No. 19 Toyota Genuine Accessories GR Supra News and Notes:

·        TRUEX AT DOVER: Ryan Truex heads to his home track of Dover Motor Speedway this weekend to make his 5th start of the season in the A-Game 200. The high-banked, one-mile speedway has been good to Truex over the years, as he has one top-five, three top-tens, one pole, and 43 laps led in six prior starts at the track. His best run came in 2012 when he set his career-best finish of second in Joe Gibbs Racing equipment. Now he returns to the Monster Mile with JGR equipment once again, looking to finish the job at the track he grew up coming to. Truex also has 2 NCS and 2 NCTS starts at Dover.

·        TALLADEGA RECAP: Truex looked impressive for most of the day at Talladega before getting caught up in a late-race wreck. He racked up 12 stage points early in the day with a 7th place finish in stage one and a 3rd place finish in stage two. He even led three times for a total of a season-high 9 laps. Unfortunately, Truex was collected in the lap 111 wreck sent the race into overtime. The No. 19 crew made quick work of the repairs and got Truex back on the lead lap, but the car was too damaged to keep up with the lead pack. Truex ultimately finished 17th. Despite the late-race setback, Truex still managed to earn the fifth most points out of all drivers due to his strong stage finishes and laps led earlier in the race.

·        HOME COOKIN’: A native of Mayetta, New Jersey, Truex has long considered Dover his home track. The track has been good to him over the years as Dover is home to his career-best finish (2nd), career-high laps led at any track (43), his only career pole, and in his six NXS starts at the track, Truex has put together a respectable average finish of 10.5. With so much prior success and personal importance at the high-banked concrete oval, Truex looks to put together a strong run in front of his friends and family on Saturday.

·        A SPECIAL PLACE: Truex was crowned ARCA Menards Series East champion in 2009 and 2010 at Dover Motor Speedway, which were the first major accolades in his now 13-plus year NASCAR career. Along with Dover being the site of so many career-bests, his brother, Martin Truex Jr., also won his first NCS race at the track back in 2007. With so many milestones and accomplishments taking place at Dover, the Monster Mile is not only Truex’s home track, but also home to some of his biggest moments.

·        NO. 19 IN 2023: The JGR No. 19 will have a rotating schedule of drivers throughout the 2023 season. Drivers on the schedule as of Talladega are Myatt Snider, Ty Gibbs, Connor Mosack, Joe Graf Jr., and Truex. With four top-five finishes through the first eight races, the group of drivers have carried the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra to 11th in the owner standings.

·        JGR AT DOVER: Joe Gibbs Racing has a dominant history at the Monster Mile. In 112 cumulative starts, the team has scored 13 victories, 40 top-fives, 68 top-tens, 12 poles, and 2,831 laps led. At 68 top tens, that comes out to a 60.7% top-ten rate across all starts, meaning JGR entries are more than likely at the front of the field each time they take the track at Dover. To go along with the immense NXS success, JGR also boasts 9 wins and 78 top-ten finishes in the Cup Series.

Ryan Truex, Driver of the No. 19 Toyota Genuine Accessories GR Supra

“You have a lot of history at Dover. What does that mean to you going into this weekend?”

“Dover is a special place to me. I grew up coming here with my family, my brother’s first Cup win came here, I won a couple K&N East Series championships here as well. Some of my fondest memories of this sport have happened right here. I’m looking forward to getting back out there and trying to make another memory on Saturday. I’ve had some strong runs here over the years and I feel good about the equipment I’m in. Hopefully, things go our way, and we execute what we can control. If so, I like our chances this weekend.”
