Brittany Force and the Monster Energy team found themselves in familiar territory sitting atop the Top Fuel qualifying order Friday evening at the Dodge//SRT NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. John Force, sporting his “Brute Force” fist on the side of his PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet Camaro SS, are sitting No. 2 and Robert Hight and the Automobile Club of Southern California Chevrolet Camaro SS are No. 14.

After a blistering 3.693-second run at 333.41 mph, Brittany Force and the Monster Energy team went to the top of the Top Fuel qualifying order Friday evening. The Monster Energy team is chasing their 12th No. 1 qualifying position of the season, if successful, they will be only one away from tying the Top Fuel record for most No. 1s in a single season.

“That was a great run for this Monster Energy / Flav-R-Pac team, a great start. We’ve had success here in Vegas, back in 2019 we won the event and we’re trying to do it again. We’re in the hunt for this championship and that’s exciting for all of us. We’re going to throw down we’re going to go for it. It’s not going to be easy its going to be tough,” said Force who earned three qualifying bonus points for being quickest of the evening. “There are two races left and we’re going to grab as many points as we can so very single run matters. We’re going to throw down every run we can, see how many points we can grab and then it’s race day and we start all over. We’re looking for four win-lights. We want to get this championship but we need to do well this weekend, we need to win this thing.”

John “The Brute” Force had an impressive 3.902-second pass at 328.54 mph in the first round of qualifying. The PEAK Chevy team’s effort earns them two bonus qualifying points, important in their battle for a 17th championship.

“Good run today in this PEAK Chevrolet. The weather is great and we get two more tomorrow,” Force said. “We’re running good, keeping us in the fight. Going to have our sponsors out tomorrow. Hoping to really put on a show for PEAK, the bosses will be here. It’s going to be a good show.”

Robert Hight and the Auto Club Chevy team had good early numbers on their qualifying attempt but hazed the tires near mid-track and had to let up to go only 4.660-seconds at 174.12 mph.

“It was on a good run early, just couldn’t make it down there. Jimmy Prock and Chris Cunningham will go back and look at it. This Auto Club team will be ready for tomorrow,” Hight said. “Conditions are good so it I’m not worried, we’ll be ready for race day.”
