Michael Self Leads Venturini Motorsports Sweep of ARCA Menards Series Practice at Talladega

Venturini Motorsports picked up where it left off at Daytona International Speedway, dominating Friday morning’s practice for the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway. Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota) led the way at 52.886 seconds/181.069 miles per hour, with teammates Christian Eckes (No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota) second at 52.923 seconds/180.942 miles per hour and Brandon Lynn (No. 20 Venturini Motorsports Toyota) third at 52.930 seconds/180.918 miles per hour.

Venturini Motorsports has dominated the ARCA Menards Series season thus far, winning at Daytona with driver Harrison Burton while Self has followed that up by winning the next two events at Five Flags Speedway and Salem Speedway. Eckes won the General Tire Pole Award at Daytona and teammate Chandler Smith earned the top spot in qualifying at Five Flags.

Additionally, the team swept the top four positions in the pre-season test at Daytona.

Todd Gilliland (No. 4 Frontline Enterprises Toyota) was fourth in practice at 53.152 seconds/180.163 miles per hour, and Grant Quinlan (No. 30 Jones Demolition and Abatement Ford) rounded out the top five at 53.185 seconds/180.051 miles per hour.

Former Talladega winner Gus Dean (No. 32 Win-Tron Racing Chevrolet) was sixth, Andy Seuss (No. 02 Robert B. Our Company Chevrolet) was seventh, last year’s runner-up finisher Joe Graf, Jr. (No. 77 EAT SLEEP RACE Ford) was eighth, current series championship leader Travis Braden (No. 27 MatrixCare/Consonus Health Care/Liberty Village Ford) was ninth, and Ty Majeski (No. 22 Chad Bryant Racing Ford) rounded out the top ten.

There were no incidents in the 85-minute session, with the only stoppage of the action for an errant garbage back that was floating on the track surface about 30 minutes in.

Next up for the ARCA Menards Series in General Tire Pole Qualifying at 3:30 pm ET/2:30 pm CT, and the green flag in the General Tire 200 is expected shortly after 6 pm ET/5 pm ET.
