The General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway will be the first race of the 2019 CGS Imaging Four Crown Championship, a series within the series that celebrates the traditional diversity of the ARCA Menards Series.

Each year, the ARCA Menards Series mixes one race from each of the different types of tracks on the schedule – superspeedway, intermediate, short track, and a dirt track – to the 4 Crown Championship. This year, in addition to Talladega (superspeedway), other events include Michigan (intermediate), Springfield (mile dirt), and Salem (short track).

Last year’s CGS Imaging 4 Crown races were won by Zane Smith (Talladega, Pocono, and DuQuoin) and Chandler Smith (Madison).

Officials tabulate the standings after each of the 4 Crown races counting race points only; no qualifying or bonus points are included.

Dating back to 1984, some of the biggest names in motorsports have earned the coveted 4 Crown championship. Davey Allison won the inaugural, and over the years he’s been joined by the likes of series champions Lee Raymond, Tracy Leslie, Bob Keselowski, Bobby Bowsher, Bill Venturini, Tim Steele, Bill Baird, and Frank Kimmel. Current NASCAR stars Chris Buescher, Grant Enfinger, and Chase Briscoe are former winners, as is part time NASCAR driver and NASCAR on NBC analyst Parker Kligerman. Zane Smith, who now drives for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR XFINITY Series on a part-time basis, won the 2018 CGS Imaging 4 Crown championship.

Today’s General Tire 200 will go green shortly after 6 pm ET/5 pm CT and will be televised live on FS1. ARCARacing.com will have live timing & scoring, live track updates, and live chat for registered users.
