Michigan International Speedway is committed to bringing visitors from across the Midwest and Canada to the surrounding areas throughout year. Starting in 2019, Visit Lenawee will partner with the speedway to showcase the local area to all the fans who visit NASCAR’s Most Entertaining Track.

The track and Visit Lenawee share a common purpose of bringing guests to the surrounding communities and showcasing all that Lenawee County has to offer, no matter the age of the individual. But more importantly, each organization strives to provide a memorable experience to the guests at every turn.

“We are excited to announce our new partnership with Michigan International Speedway, we feel that this partnership will assist us in the next step of bringing Visit Lenawee and our destination to the NASCAR fan base,” Visit Lenawee Executive Director Justin Gifford said. ”This partnership will also assist in integrating MIS and Visit Lenawee into our communities, to engage and make a larger impact together.”

Michigan International Speedway is home to two Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekends every year. In addition, the track hosts numerous guests throughout the year with a variety of events to help showcase the surrounding area.

“We are happy to partner with Visit Lenawee to bring people to track and local area to showcase the many wonderful amenities and attractions it has to offer,” track president Rick Brenner said. “Visit Lenawee shares our passion of putting the guests first and making each experience memorable.”

As a partner with MIS, Visit Lenawee will utilize on-site branding to promote the advantages of vacationing in the area and showcasing the county. The organization will also look to take advantage of the business-to-business opportunities created by its involvement in the sport to pursue different opportunities to bring other businesses to the community.

Michigan International Speedway will continue to be a premier racing facility in 2019 when it hosts a pair of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races. NASCAR’s most entertaining track will host the Monster Energy Series on June 9 and Aug. 11. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 is on June 9. The series will return on Aug. 11 for the Consumers Energy 400.

The XFINITY Series LTi Printing 250 is June 8 while the Gander Outdoors Truck Series Corrigan Oil 200 is scheduled for Aug. 10. The Gander Outdoors Truck Series Corrigan Oil 200 will serve as the cutoff race for the regular season. Drivers will have one final opportunity to make the playoffs in the truck series, adding even more intensity and intrigue to the already thrilling race at MIS.

The Faster Horses Festival returns to Michigan International Speedway for the seventh consecutive year. Toby Keith, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band will headline the three-day country music festival. In addition, the speedway will host other events such as the MIS Backyard Hockey Tournament, Formula SAE, Michigan High School Athletic Association State Cross Country Meet, Nite Lites and driving schools throughout the year.

The track continues to give back to the local community through its MIS Cares Foundation. MIS and its sister company Americrown combined to donate a total of $1,022,097 to local service groups and organizations in 2018 through cash donations, in-kind donations, work programs, grants and sponsorships, as well as tickets and merchandise that clubs raffled to raise money.
