SS Greenlight Racing will bring chassis 703 to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Spencer Boyd ran this chassis a few weeks ago at Dover International Speedway and finished in the 30th position.
News and notes: After a few off weeks, Spencer Boyd and team are ready to be back on track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. “I’ve been staying pretty busy even though we haven’t been on track,” says Boyd. “I got to run in a few go-kart events, as well as, do some autograph sessions for all the fans coming to Charlotte. It’s been pretty crazy, but I’m enjoying every minute of it. I can’t wait to get back on track and show off our fresh Marine scheme this weekend. Thanks again to Calcutta Outdoors for coming on board this weekend and of course Grunt Style for being a part of this special scheme.”
Special Passenger: Boyd’s Grunt Style Camaro will bear the name of USMC Cpl Edward N. Beattie, on the passenger name rail. Cpl Beattie died on October 25, 2015 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while serving at USMC Recruitment Depot Parris Island, SC. He was 26. His mother Alison; his stepfather, Timothy; and his grandfather, Stanley Strachan will be representing Cpl Beattie this weekend. “This weekend is going to be very emotional, and barring the name of Cpl Beattie will add to that emotion. I’m excited to meet Ed’s family and learn more about him this weekend. I hope I can make his family and many others proud this weekend,” Boyd said.
TV/Radio: The Alsco 300 from Charlotte Motor Speedway can be seen live on Saturday, May 26th on FS1. Race coverage will begin at 1:00 p.m. EST, and the event can also be heard live on PRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Radio, channel 90.
