Solid test gives optimistic outlook to Gus Dean; Win-Tron Racing at Charlotte

Even with a brief interruption for an afternoon storm, Gus Dean (@gusdean) and his Win-Tron Racing enjoyed a productive ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards test session in advance of the General Tire 150 set for May 24.
Dean, the Bluffton, S.C. native whipped us his first laps around the Concord, N.C.-oval and kept his No. 32 GREE Cooling Products | Baker Distributing Chevrolet inside the top-10 for a majority of the six-hour session.
Despite briefly falling outside the top-10 in test speeds, Dean and crew chief Jamie Jones laid down their fastest lap of the test at the end – lifting the Mooresville, N.C.-native back inside the top-10.
The 23-year-old was the quickest amongst the Chevrolet brigade.
Gus Dean Quote: “We had a constructive test at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I’m appreciative of the Win-Tron Racing team for bringing a quick No. 32 GREE Cooling Products | Baker Distributing Chevrolet. We kept working on the car all day, especially from that transition from day to night and I think we made some serious gains.
“We’re not where we want to be, but we’re heading in the right direction and have a good baseline for when we come back in a couple weeks.
“It’s great to see the ARCA Racing Series back at Charlotte after almost two decades and we’re looking forward to hosting a bunch of guests from GREE, Tradewinds Climate Systems and Baker Distributing.”
Next Up: Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway on Sun., May 20.
