- HAMLIN AT ST LOUIS: Denny Hamlin finished second in last season’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway. That day, he started third and finished third in both stages before ultimately ending up with a runner-up result. Two years ago, Hamlin started sixth and finished 34th after being involved in an incident during stage two. In two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the track, Hamlin finished 11th and third and claimed the pole award in 2006.
- CHARLOTTE RECAP: The No. 11 team finished fifth in Sunday’s rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. For Hamlin, it was his fourth consecutive top-five finish in points-paying races and fifth consecutive top-five including the NASCAR All-Star Race.
- HISTORY OF THE 11: Throughout NASCAR history, the No. 11 has visited victory lane more than any other car number. - POINTS LEADER: With his fifth-place finish at Charlotte, Hamlin now leads the driver’s points standings by five points over Martin Truex Jr. This is the first time Hamlin has held the outright points lead since following the July 2021 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
- FRONT RUNNER: Hamlin leads the Cup Series in multiple statistical categories according to Loop Data provided by NASCAR. He is currently the best in the series in average running position, driver rating, fastest drivers late in a run, fastest on restarts, green flag speed, and laps in the top 15. Through 14 races, Hamlin has spent 299 more laps in the top 15 than the next closest competitor.
- JGR AT ST LOUIS: Joe Gibbs Racing has posted three top-five finishes and five top-10s in eight combined starts at World Wide Technology Raceway. Last season, Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. both finished inside the top five at the 1.25-mile oval.

How do you approach this weekend’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway?
“This is going to be a track position race. From what we’ve seen with this car at this track, you’re going to have to qualify well and have a really good day on pit road to stay up front. I feel like it’s a good track for us, we were really strong last year and stayed in the top five all day. It’s just going to be super important to unload strong and get a good qualifying spot and a good pit stall to have a shot on Sunday.”
