  • HAMLIN AT CHARLOTTE: Denny Hamlin is a former Coca-Cola 600 after winning the marquis event in 2022. Overall, Hamlin has posted 11 top-five finishes, 20 top-10s, three pole awards, and 415 laps led at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He has three finishes of seventh or better in the past four races on the 1.5-mile track. The Chesterfield, Virginia native is also a former NASCAR Xfinity Series winner at Charlotte.
  • ALL-STAR RECAP: Hamlin finished second in last weekend’s NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. After starting 11th, he patiently worked his way forward throughout the 200-lap event. In the end, he closed on eventual Joey Logano before ultimately having to settle for a runner-up result.
  • TOP-FIVE STREAK: Including last Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race, the No. 11 driver has finished in the top five in his past four races. Following his victory at Dover Motor Speedway on April 28, Hamlin has rattled off finishes of fifth at Kansas Speedway (May 5), fourth at Darlington Raceway (May 12), and second at North Wilkesboro Speedway (May 19).
  • LEADING IN 2024: Hamlin is the only driver to lead in all 13 races this season. After leading one lap in the most recent points race at Darlington Raceway, the No. 11 driver ranks second in the series with 607 laps led this season.   • PFC STEVEN DEAN SMITH: As part of the 600 Miles of Remembrance program, the windshield of the No. 11 Camry will carry the name of Private First Class Steven Dean Smith. PFC Smith, a native of Bellville, Ohio, served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He lost his life on April 15, 1968, while serving in Vietnam. PFC Smith was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star with valor, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.

“The Coke 600 definitely wears on you both mentally and physically. For me personally, just sitting in that position for so long wears on my back a little more, especially with how we have to run the cars nowadays. But, you know going in that it’s going to be that way and it’s going to be hot, so it’s really about preparing yourself ahead of time to be at your best at the end of race.”
