- DOVER WIN NOTES: Denny Hamlin tied Lee Petty for 12th on the all-time wins list after claiming his 54th career NASCAR Cup Series victory last weekend at Dover Motor Speedway. It was his third points-paying victory of the 2024 campaign and his second at the Monster Mile. The win was Hamlin’s 22nd with crew chief Chris Gabehart. For Joe Gibbs Racing, it was the organization’s 11th Cup Series victory at Dover and their fourth win of the season.
- HAMLIN AT KANSAS: Hamlin is the all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins leader at Kansas Speedway with four victories, including the spring race last year. In addition to leading in wins, Hamlin’s 13 top-five finishes at Kansas are the most all-time. He has posted five consecutive top-five finishes at the track dating back to October 2021, including three straight finishes of second or better. Three of Hamlin’s four Kansas wins have come since being paired with crew chief Chris Gabehart at the start of the 2019 season. Hamlin’s success at Kansas Speedway is not limited to his efforts behind the wheel as he has also visited victory lane three times in the past four races at the track as a co-owner of 23XI Racing.
- HISTORY OF THE 11: Throughout NASCAR history, the No. 11 has visited victory lane more than any other car number. Hamlin’s win last Sunday at Dover was the 234th time a No. 11 car has won in the Cup Series. For Hamlin, his 54 victories driving the No. 11 are only one behind NASCAR Hall of Famer Cale Yarborough for most on the illustrious list of drivers who have wheeled a No. 11 car to victory lane. That list includes Bobby Allison (3 wins), Mario Andretti (1 win), Buddy Baker (2 wins), Geoffrey Bodine (4 wins), Bill Elliott (6 wins), A.J. Foyt (1 win), Denny Hamlin (54 wins), Ned Jarrett (49 wins), Junior Johnson (11 wins), Parnelli Jones (1 win), Terry Labonte (4 wins), Darrell Waltrip (43 wins), and Cale Yarborough (55 wins).
- LEADING IN 2024: Hamlin is the only driver to lead in all 11 races this season. After leading a race-high 136 laps last weekend at Dover, the No. 11 driver ranks second in the series with 535 laps led this season. Hamlin’s current streak of leading in 15 consecutive races is a personal best for the veteran driver. His previous best was leading 13 consecutive races during the 2021 season.
- FRONT RUNNER: Hamlin leads the Cup Series in multiple statistical categories according to Loop Data provided by NASCAR. He is currently the best in the series in average running position, fastest laps run, fastest on restarts, green flag speed, and laps in the top 15. Through 11 races, Hamlin has spent 148 more laps in the top 15 than the next closest competitor.
- CUP DEBUT: In October 2005, Kansas Speedway played host to Hamlin’s NASCAR Cup Series debut. The Chesterfield, Virginia native started seventh and finished 32nd that weekend.

“I am not going to call my shot like I did last week, but I do feel good about Kansas. We have had a lot of success there over the years, especially since I have worked with Chris (Gabehart, crew chief) and with the Next Gen car. We definitely go to Kansas with high expectations because we know what we’re capable of. It’s just a matter of putting the pieces together during the race to have a chance.”
