  • Return of Moose Fraternity at Dover: This weekend at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway Ross Chastain will pilot the red-and-black Moose Fraternity paint scheme. Dover marks the second time this season Chastain has been behind the wheel of the Moose livery. He drove it earlier this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga., to a seventh-place finish. Chastain has been to victory lane with Moose Fraternity on the car – Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in April 2022. However, Moose Fraternity is probably most famous for being on the No. 1 Chevrolet at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in October 2022 when Chastain rode the wall in a video game move to advance to the final round of the championship.
  • Meet Ross: Friday, April 26 at 6 p.m. ET, Chastain will sign autographs at Georgetown Speedway in Georgetown, Delaware. On Saturday, April 27, 5 – 7 p.m. ET, he will sign autographs at Grotto Pizza, 1159 N. Dupont Highway, Dover, Del., followed by a 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. ET autograph session at Moose Lodge No. 2046, 2035 S. Dupont Blvd., Smyrna, Del. On Sunday, beginning at 10:45 a.m. ET Chastain will sign autographs at the Trackhouse souvenir hauler located in the Dover fan midway – wristband required.
  • Dover Stats: Chastain made his first ever Cup Series career start at Dover in 2017. His last two Cup Series finishes at the one-mile concrete track are third and second, respectively. One position better this weekend and he would capture his first Cup win at the Delaware track. He’s also led a combined 184 laps in his last two starts at Dover for Trackhouse Racing.
  • Season Stats: Chastain has earned four top-10s in 10 races so far this season along with 65 laps led. He’s currently ninth in driver points.
  • NASCAR: Full Speed: Catch Chastain in the five-episode docuseries NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix. The series documented portions of Chastain’s 2023 season on and off the track. All five episodes are currently available on Netflix.
  • Last Weekend at Talladega: Chastain quickly moved into the top-10 in Stage 1 after starting deep in the field. He finished Stage 2 in the fifth position and led a total of six laps throughout the race. With about 20 laps to go, Chastain ran in the top-10 nose-to-tail with teammate Daniel Suárez but both ended up in a last-lap accident and Chastain finished 13th.
  • 2023 Season Recap: Chastain won at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in June and at the Phoenix Raceway season finale in November. He posted 10 top-five and 14 top-10 finishes in his third fulltime Cup season. The Alva, Florida native finished ninth in points.

Chastain Quotes:

What do you think about Dover?

“I ran my very first Cup race at Dover in the spring (2017) and I also raced the fall race there. Those were the only two Cup races I ran all year. I remember being scared to death because I didn’t think I was ready. I had a lot of encouragement to go ahead and do my first Cup race and sort of get it out of the way. I’m so glad I did it. Dover is like a third home to me after Florida and North Carolina. I’ve spent more time in Delaware than almost any other state.”

What has made you so good at Dover recently?

“Phil Surgen and my No. 1 team. I feel like concrete tracks have been really, really strong for us – Nashville and Dover. We’ve been fortunate to have super fast cars at concrete tracks.”

Is a win in the future because you’ve been so close the last couple of times at Dover?

“I have that level of confidence every time I go to the track. Its cool to experience this level of competition with Trackhouse. I’m trying to soak up every moment and every race because its really cool to be in the position I’m in. I’ve been in the sport so long and so many people have helped me get here. To be fast at Dover is great. I remember watching the guys who were fast, (Matt) Kenseth in turn 4 sideways in qualifying and I never thought I would get there and be able to do that in a Cup car.”

  • Jockey & Suárez: Daniel Suárez will look good on and off the track Sunday at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway driving the red-white-and-blue No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet in the 400-mile NASCAR Cup Series race.
  • American Flag Scheme: “The American flag paint scheme proved to be quite popular among NASCAR fans,” said Dan Ouweneel, head of brand marketing, Jockey. “We’ve heard from a number of them, asking for the scheme to be brought back occasionally, because they loved it so much. As a company that values family, community and tradition, and love of country, we couldn’t be happier to bring it back for them at Dover.”
  • Jockey & Trackhouse: Jockey joined Trackhouse Racing in 2022 in a partnership that features primary paint schemes, community impact programs, retailer engagement, product and styles, as well as season-long marketing rights and branding.
  • Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway: Suárez owns five top-10 finishes in 11 starts on the mile concrete track. He’s led 22 laps.
  • Sunday in Talladega: Suárez raced in the top-10 coming to the checkered flag but a multi-car incident near the start-finish line left him with a 26th-place finish.
  • Season So Far: Suárez is 18th in points and likely secured a place in the 2024 playoffs with his victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Feb. 25.
  • Atlanta Victory: At Atlanta, he and runner-up Ryan Blaney were separated by 0.003 seconds at the finish line. It was the third-closest finish in series history, and with third-place Kyle Busch just 0.007 seconds behind the winner, it also stands as the closest finish among three cars in the history of auto racing.
  • Trackhouse Victories: Atlanta marked Trackhouse Racing’s seventh win in the NASCAR Cup Series, and first at Atlanta. Chastain owns four victories, Suárez two and one for Shane van Gisbergen.
  • Mexico Series: Suárez won the 150-lap Mexico Series race at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Feb. 3. It was his 11th victory.
  • First Mexican to Win in Cup: Suárez became the first driver from Mexico (Monterrey) to win in the NASCAR Cup Series on June 12, 2022, at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway.
  • International Driver: He is one of six drivers not from the United States to win a NASCAR Cup Series race: Shane van Gisbergen (New Zealand), Marcos Ambrose (Australia), Juan Pablo Montoya (Colombia), Earl Ross (Canada) and Mario Andretti (Italy). Ambrose, Montoya, and Suarez own two victories each.
  • Cup Career Highlights: Suárez owns two victories (Sonoma 2022 and Atlanta 2024) and three Busch Light Pole Awards – Pocono (Pa.) Raceway July 2018, Kentucky Speedway July 2019, and on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway August 2023.
  • English is a Second Language: Suárez came to America to race. He did not speak English when he arrived in Buffalo, New York. He is the only Spanish-speaking driver in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Suárez Quotes:

What do think about racing at Dover?

“Dover is an amazing race track and in my opinion one of the best just because it is so tense and fast. It is very unique. There is nothing similar to Dover – except maybe Bristol, a little bit but it is still quite different. I am excited for this weekend. The feeling you get inside the car there is pretty incredible.”

What do you think of your paint scheme?

“It is an honor for me to drive a car carrying the American flag. I came to America to chase my dream and live it. Representing Jockey is quite an honor and I hope NASCAR fans see our car out front a lot this Sunday. You won’t be able to miss us.”

Are you happy where your team is at in 2024?

“We have work to do, but until we are winning consistently we will always have work to do. We have a great bunch of people and we have high expectations the rest of the season.”
