Coming off of an impressive Top Fuel debut two weeks ago in California, Jasmine Salinas is brimming with confidence as she readies herself for the NHRA Arizona Nationals this weekend at Firebird Motorsports Park just outside of Phoenix. The remarkable driver is eager to pilot the 12,000-horsepower Scrappers Racing Top Fuel dragster in front of the Phoenix fans as she makes her second appearance on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series tour.

Jasmine’s father and Scrappers Racing team owner Mike Salinas won the NHRA Arizona Nationals in 2022. Jasmine recently took over driving duties for Mike while he deals with a health matter and she would like nothing more than to return the Arizona title to the Scrappers Racing family this weekend. She’s fully embracing the responsibility hoisted onto her shoulders thanks in part to the support of her outstanding crew and Scrappers Racing sponsor partners including Adam’s Pool Solutions, Pleasanton Ready Mix and Platinum Cargo Logistics.

“Now that I’ve gotten past those first-race jitters, I’m really looking forward to the Arizona Nationals,” said Jasmine. “I’m glad I have the opportunity to compete professionally at Firebird and I’m grateful to everyone who worked hard to make it happen. My friend Travis Shumake is making his Top Fuel debut this weekend in his home state so I know this is going to be a race to remember.”

The Scrappers Racing team is currently exploring potential sponsor partnerships for Jasmine’s Top Fuel program so she can continue competing in the category after Mike returns. Known for their ferocious determination, unyielding pursuit of excellence and uncanny ability to do more with less, it’s important for them to find sponsors that align with their values.

“My love for racing grows exponentially every time that Top Fuel engine roars to life,” said Jasmine. “It feels right, and I really do love the challenge. Getting to race with fans in the stands just fuels my passion for the sport and I want to give them a better performance each time I go out there.”

Racing action for the NHRA Arizona Nationals will kick off with one qualifying round on Friday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m., and two qualifying rounds on Saturday, April 6 at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Eliminations will begin on Sunday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m.
