Tobias Dauenhauer will return to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2024 with Bremotion to compete in the EuroNASCAR PRO Championship. The Mörlenbach native will share the #99 Chevrolet Camaro with Dominique Schaak, who will make his full-time debut in EuroNASCAR 2. Despite two victories with the German organization led by Patrick Brenndorfer, Dauenhauer is not talking about being a title contender. The 26-year-old electronics technician wants to focus on having fun and taking the challenge from race to race. Nevertheless, the German will certainly have a say in the battle for the top-5 spots in Europe’s premier NASCAR championship.
Dauenhauer joined the series in 2020 in EuroNASCAR 2 and finished runner-up in his first season. He won the Rookie Trophy and showed great potential behind the wheel of a 400 hp V8 beast without any electronic driving aids. He finished second again in 2021 and then made the move to join the elite drivers of EuroNASCAR PRO. The young driver had to end the 2022 season early, but returned with Bremotion in 2023 for the team’s EuroNASCAR debut at Brands Hatch.
It didn’t take long for Brenndörfer’s team to reach the top as Dauenhauer scored his first EuroNASCAR PRO race win in his home race at Oschersleben. He was the first German to win in Europe’s premier NASCAR championship and score a victory for Bremotion. He also finished the last race of the 2023 season in first place with a record margin of more than 50 seconds in the heavy rain at Circuit Zolder, Belgium. He finished second in the Junior Trophy standings for drivers under the age of 25.
“It’s all about competition and pure racing in EuroNASCAR and that’s why I’m back,” Dauenhauer said of his contract extension with Bremotion. “I just want to win races and have fun. That’s my goal for the season. I will focus on a race-by-race plan and then we will see where we end up in the championship standings. Being the first German to win in EuroNASCAR PRO was the best moment in my career so far, especially at my home race at Oschersleben.”
Brenndorfer is happy to have Dauenhauer back on his team: “After our strong EuroNASCAR debut last season, in which we won two EuroNASCAR PRO races, it was a no-brainer to be back on the grid. We really love the series and that is why we are going to expand our program from round 2 on. There will be a second car at Vallelunga. We have confirmed two strong drivers in Tobias and Dominique. Last year we were in a safe place as rookies, but now the competition knows that we are serious contenders. It will not be an easy season, but we are hungry and motivated.”
The 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season kicks off April 13-14 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. The races will be streamed live in English on the EuroNASCAR YouTube channel and, for the first time in NWES history, in German on the Motorvision app. Bremotion is ready to take the next step and with an experienced winner like Dauenhauer, the team has what it takes to compete for more victories.
