The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series silly season is in full swing and the latest addition to the 2024 grid is Simone Giussani, who will make his NASCAR debut with Double V Racing. The Italian will take the wheel of the #27 Ford Mustang and compete in EuroNASCAR 2, the championship dedicated to young talents and gentleman drivers. The 27-year-old from Milan is the reigning Italian Legends Car champion and will take the next step in his promising racing career.

Despite being a rookie in the EuroNASCAR 2 division, the former motocross racer has set his sights high and is eager to leave his mark in the most unpredictable championship in Europe’s official NASCAR series. A fan of Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton, Giussani doesn’t have a racing background in his family, but found his passion for motorsports as a child and he’s eager to show his full potential with the established NWES team Double V Racing, which scored its first EuroNASCAR 2 win in 2023 with Patrick Schober.

“I want to finish in the top-10 and win the Rookie Trophy,” said Giussani after signing his contract with Double V Racing. “The car is so exciting and I love the events that are full of fans hungry for pure racing and great entertainment on and off the track. I’m a racer who never gives up and my greatest strength is my consistency.” The Italian works in commercial business and puts a lot of effort into his racing program to be competitive right away. With Double V Racing, Giussani has found an environment that has been successful in EuroNASCAR since the team joined the paddock in 2021.

Double V Racing Team owner Francesco Vignali said: “We are delighted to have Simone with us for next season. A young Italian talent from the Sharks Racing Team, who will make his debut in EuroNASCAR and will certainly fight for the Rookie Trophy. A special thanks to the Sharks Racing Team that will support and manage Simone throughout the season.” For the Italian organization, the signing of Giussani is the first piece of the puzzle, with additional driver lineup announcements to be made in the near future.

The 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season kicks off April 13-14 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. This will be the first NASCAR race of Giussani’s career. All races of the 2024 season will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel and on numerous television channels around the world.
