CAAL Racing has signed Max Lanza for the upcoming 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season. The Italian will once again take the wheel of the #88 Chevrolet Camaro to compete in the EuroNASCAR PRO championship against the best European NASCAR drivers. The Rome native will be entering his third professional season after gaining plenty of experience in the EuroNASCAR 2 division. Lanza is looking to improve his results and win the Challenger Trophy for elite amateur drivers in the top-level NWES championship for the first time in his career.

Lanza knows what it takes to win a Trophy in the NWES world, as the 43-year-old topped the EuroNASCAR 2 Legend standings for drivers aged 40 and more in 2021. In the 2023 season, Lanza won the Challenger Trophy race at his home track in Vallelunga, located near the Italian capital of Rome. Having joined the series in 2018, Lanza has the experience to attack in his class and bring home another title for the Italian powerhouse led by Luca and Corrado Canneori.

“I love the passionate fans, the high level of competition and the pure racing character of the EuroNASCAR cars,” said the entrepreneur of his return to CAAL Racing and the NWES. “I am hungry to win the Challenger Trophy and finish in the top-10 overall in EuroNASCAR PRO. I can’t wait to start again and I would like to thank the Avangarde Group for their increasing presence as my main sponsor throughout the season. I would also like to thank my long-time partners KO2 and Cepi TAAS as well as my newer partner EdiLeo from Milan. They have always believed in our project in EuroNASCAR.”

“With the support of all these partners, I can count on a top-level package at CAAL Racing,” continued Lanza. “I’m ready and I worked hard during the winter to be in control of what happens. This will be my seventh EuroNASCAR season, so I have a lot of experience, but you always have to improve. I want to keep the momentum from last season and compete for the Challenger Trophy!” Combined in both championships, Lanza has 55 race starts, two top-5 finishes and 13 top-10 results on his record. His best result to date was a fourth-place finish in EuroNASCAR 2.

“I know I have a lot of potential and I want to squeeze every bit of it out,” said Lanza. “EuroNASCAR races are spectacular for the fans and we drivers have a lot of fun behind the wheel. It’s a lot more exciting than other categories and you have to fight hard to bring home strong results. It’s not easy, but that’s what makes it fun for us drivers. I have so many partners who believe in me, support me and allow me to chase my dreams year after year. I would like to thank all of them – those who have been with us from the beginning and those who have joined us recently. I’m looking forward to racing in Valencia and being on the track in my beautiful #88 car.”

The 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season kicks off April 13-14 in Spain at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. The series will visit seven tracks in seven European countries for unique spectacle, including the return of the Venray oval and the Italian race at Vallelunga on May 18-19. All races will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel and on numerous television channels around the world.
