  • Jesse Love scored his third career series victory and his first of 2023 in the General Tire 200. Love led the first 27 laps of the race and then worked his way back to the lead at lap 69, leading the final eight circuits to take the victory.
  • Hollywood superstar-turned-racecar driver Frankie Muniz leads the ARCA Menards Series championship standings after three races. He unofficially leads Love 106-103 headed into the next series race at Kansas Speedway on May 6. Muniz finished ninth at Talladega and is now the only driver to have completed each of the 316 possible laps so far in 2023.
  • Daytona winner Greg Van Alst had high hopes to score another superspeedway victory, but he was tagged in the right rear going down the backstretch and sent head-on into the outside wall, ending his day on lap 15. Van Alst finished 32nd.
  • Gus Dean scored his best Talladega finish, second, since he won at the 2.66-mile tri-oval in 2016. In seven starts at Talladega, Dean’s average finish is an impressive 6.9.
  • Bret Holmes, the 2020 ARCA Menards Series champion and a native of nearby Munford, Alabama, finished third, his second straight top-three finish at Talladega. He finished second last year.
  • Andres Perez de Lara finished fourth in his first drafting track appearance. Perez de Lara was not eligible to compete at Daytona due to age restrictions, but since he has turned 18 he has finished fourth at both Phoenix Raceway and Talladega Superspeedway to move to sixth in the championship standings.
  • Sean Corr finished fifth, his second top-five finish in two starts so far in 2023. He finished a career-best third to open the season at Daytona.
  • Taylor Gray was scheduled to take the green from the General Tire Pole, but he was forced to start from the rear of the field after an oil pressure issue in Friday’s practice sessionnecessitated an engine change. Gray was able to stay out of trouble and finished seventh.
  • Jason White, who led at the white flag at Daytona before being shuffled out to finish ninth, scored another top-ten finish in tenth.
  • Tony Cosentino left Talladega with an eleventh-place finish with the new Tomayo-Cosentino Racing team. He has a pair of 15th-place finishes at Daytona and Phoenix, has only missed one lap of competition so far, and is fifth in the series standings.
  • Only seven of the race’s 34 starters were eliminated due to crashes.
  • The ARCA Menards Series races at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway both finished under green flag conditions.
  • The next race for the ARCA Menards Series is the Dawn 150 at Kansas Speedway, set for 2 pm ET/1 pm CT on Saturday, May 6. The race will be televised live on FS1 and broadcast on select affiliates of the MRN Radio network nationwide.
