It will be easy for visitors to downtown Indianapolis and the Indianapolis International Airport to know NASCAR, Florida Georgia Line and USAC are roaring into town in early September at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as a major signage and décor campaign is underway to promote the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard event week.
The campaign is similar to the successful promotions surrounding the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge in greater Indianapolis leading into the Month of May. The 26th annual NASCAR weekend at IMS includes the Driven2SaveLives BC39 Powered by NOS Energy Drink for the USAC National Midget Series on Wednesday, Sept. 4 and Thursday, Sept. 5 at The Dirt Track at IMS; the Indiana 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the FGL Fest concert Saturday, Sept. 7; and the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday, Sept. 8 on the IMS oval.
“Indianapolis is the greatest racing city in America, and we’re proud to work with our community partners to promote one of the crown-jewel events of NASCAR throughout downtown and at the airport,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said. “There’s plenty of fun and excitement for fans on and off the track during the Brickyard, and this bold, vibrant campaign captures that spirit and revs everyone up for another big race weekend at IMS.”
The most visible downtown Indianapolis signage is on the base of the JW Marriott Indianapolis hotel. The sign – which measures 154 feet wide and 42 feet high – stands tall over the left-field bleachers at Victory Field, the home of the popular Indianapolis Indians’ baseball team, and is visible to all fans at the ballpark.
Other bold Brickyard signage, including slogans such as “THE STAGE IS SET. LET’S ROLL,” is featured on many buildings in popular downtown Indianapolis restaurant, bar and entertainment districts. One of the largest signs is on a wall at the popular Pan Am Plaza, located on West Georgia Street between Capitol and Illinois Streets.
Signage also is on light posts throughout downtown Indianapolis.
Decals for the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line and Driven2SaveLives BC39 Powered by NOS Energy Drink also will be featured on a number of electric cars available for rent downtown from BlueIndy.
The popular street sign takeover also will continue this month. Major streets and avenues in downtown Indianapolis will be renamed after popular star drivers in this year’s NASCAR races at the Speedway, with IMS President J. Douglas Boles hanging the first sign – honoring reigning Brickyard winner Brad Keselowski – on Meridian Street at the South Spoke of Monument Circle on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 7.
Visitors who fly to and from the Indianapolis International Airport also will be greeted by numerous Brickyard signs. The focal point of the campaign at the airport is a huge decal on the window of the beautiful central atrium, similar in size to the decals promoting the Indy 500 in April and May.
Other NASCAR and USAC event signage is featured on the moving walkways and catwalk at the airport.
All signs downtown and at the airport feature the event hashtag, #letsbrickyard, and IMS.com.
