Max Tullman looking for top-10 finish in Michigan ARCA debut

Continuing to mount solid finishes in his transition to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, newcomer Max Tullman (@MaxTullman) heads to Michigan International Speedway eyeing his third career top-10 finish in Friday afternoon’s ZOMONGO 200.

For the fifth time this season, the popular Tullman with the support of his Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) team heads to the Irish Hills looking to acquire priceless seat time while hunting a strong finish at the same time.
Last weekend at Pocono Raceway, Tullman continued to show his quick adaption to stock cars.
Making significant gains at the Tricky Triangle from an open-test on Wednesday to practice on Friday and then a solid top-15 performance during the race, Tullman is hoping for an easy changeover to the fast speeds of the 2.0-mile oval of Michigan – one that rewards Tullman with his third top-10 run of the year.
“Excited to get to Michigan,” said Tullman. “It’s been fun to run three straight ARCA races with Mason Mitchell Motorsports. We’ve been able to learn a lot and more importantly finish the race.
“This weekend at Michigan, our goals don’t change – but we are hoping to put ourselves back in the top-10. That would be a huge win for our Mason Mitchell Motorsports team on Friday.”
To help him adapt to Michigan’s sweeping turns and mind-blowing straightaways, Tullman has been focused on studying the available resources to him, including video and photography. With his fifth career ARCA start just days away, the Chester Springs, Pa. native believes he has soaked up enough intel to give him a good head start.
“I’m taking these ARCA races very seriously,” added Tullman. “Late at night, I feel like I’m back in High School – looking at notes, watching video and just dissecting photos. It’s all for a good cause. Michigan is a mega race for ARCA and I want to put our team in the spotlight.”
For the second time this season, Yurpal.com will support Tullman in ARCA competition.
Yurpal.com is the first and only e-commerce platform designed and dedicated to the construction and building materials industry.
“I’m stoked to welcome Yurpal.com back to Mason Mitchell Motorsports this weekend,” sounded Tullman who carries an average finish of 9.8 in four races. “We had a great time with them at Talladega and a had strong finish that put an exclamation point on the weekend. I think we can do it again.”
Yurpal.com CEO Jon De Langis is thrilled about his company’s return with Tullman and MMM.
“All of us at Yurpal.com are very excited to have this second opportunity to support Max Tullman and Mason Mitchell Motorsports this weekend at Michigan International Speedway,” offered De Langis.
“As we’ve said before we consider a relationship in Motorsports as a very high priority to promote our brand as we continue to grow our eCommerce platform for building materials and products. Our exposure and recognition at Talladega was tremendous and we’re looking forward to this next ARCA experience with Max and the team.”
Veteran Motorsports crew chief Doug Richert, who led Dale Earnhardt Sr. to his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) championship in 1980 will continue to call the shots for Tullman.
“I feel like I’ve been working with Doug for years compared to just months,” added Tullman. “He’s super patient with me and is really determined to make me a better race car driver inside and out.
“That loyalty is important to me and my family. While my learning curve continues, his patience is inconceivable. At the end of the day, I’m confident Doug’s approach is going to take us from contenders to winners.”
Following Michigan, the 20-year-old Tullman will return to Mason Mitchell Motorsports at the end of the month for his Chicagoland Speedway debut.
“We’re working around the clock to keep me racing more in ARCA with Mason and Doug,” explained Tullman. “We’ve got a lot of good things happening, but everyone knows the more I’m in a race car – the better I’m going to be in a long run.
“Everything’s been so smooth with Mason Mitchell Motorsports. They really treat me like family and that’s the reason we’re focused on doing what we can to race more this summer.”
In addition to the ZOMONGO 200, the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge veteran will compete in a minimum of two other ARCA races at Chicagoland and Iowa Speedway (July) respectively.
Announced last month, Tullman will also compete in a minimum of two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races aboard the No. 20 Chevrolet for Young’s Motorsports.
Additional stock car races are set to be added to Tullman’s schedule and will be announced in the immediate future.
Tullman will be a teammate to Quin Houff for the third time in 2018.
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series spotter Tyler Green will continue to guide in Friday afternoon’s highly anticipated thriller.
The ZOMONGO 200 (100 laps | 200 miles) is the eighth of 20 races on the 2018 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule.
