Drive Laps in Your Personal Vehicle Around Talladega Superspeedway this Saturday, Dec. 16

In the spirit of the holiday season, Talladega Superspeedway is providing fans and the local community with a unique spin on the standard of a typical charitable drive. In efforts to raise money for the speedway’s new outreach fund, ‘Dega Gives, participants can make a $50 donation to drive their personal vehicles around the historic 2.66-mile venue this Saturday, Dec. 16.

Donors in a street legal vehicle that’s equipped with enough seatbelts for all passengers will get to drive four thrilling laps behind a Talladega Safety/Pace truck to tackle Talladega’s 33-degree high banks. The gates will open to the public at 9 a.m. CST and the drives will conclude at 2 p.m. CST.

“This is an exciting event during this holiday season for so many reasons,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “By establishing ‘Dega Gives, our charity fund created through the help of the NASCAR Foundation, we have a great opportunity to give back the community in pure ‘Dega style’. Hopefully with unique incentives like this track drive, we can bring together our neighbors and race fans alike for a truly meaningful experience.”

Driving participates behind the wheel must be 19 years of age or older, and once on pit road, remain in vehicle at all times. No motorcycles, RV’s, or tractor trailers will be allowed on the track. Cash or credit card will be acceptable upon arrival. For more information on Talladega Superspeedway’s track drive benefiting ‘Dega Gives, call 256-362-2261 for Guest Services.
