The NASCAR Euro Series has entered a new era in its successful history, recently unveiling a new name and new corporate identity. Now it’s time to introduce the first stage of the EuroNASCAR GEN3 car. Beginning with the 2025 season, cars will be equipped with a 5-speed sequential transmission manufactured by Samsonas of Lithuania. The new gearbox will replace the 4-speed H-pattern transmission. The new gearbox will enhance performance, durability and driving experience of the 400 hp V8 cars used in Europe’s official NASCAR championship.
Initial testing showed a promising step forward. Drivers reported smoother shifts and better balance in the car due to the additional gear, which allows them to optimize the rev range. All in all, the sequential gearbox will take the performance of the car and the ability to fight for positions door handle to door handle and bumper to bumper to the next level.
“The new sequential shifter from Samsonas allows the car to evolve with more options for the driver and yet remain within our pure sporting objectives,” said Joe Balash, Sporting and Technical Director of the NASCAR Euro Series. “It has been a smooth transition with one of our first technical components of the new era”.
“Samsonas Motorsport is a team that has been active in racing Industry for more than 30 years and whose passion is to develop high-quality, high-performance products. We are very pleased to have the honor of joining forces with the highly competitive and tradition-rich NASCAR Euro Series” said Martynas Samsonas, owner of Samsonas. “I believe working together with EuroNASCAR will give us all the opportunity to grow and be even more successful. A big thank you to NASCAR Euro Series President CEO Jerome Galpin for believing in us and making this possible”.
The NASCAR Euro Series was also looking for a product that would improve the durability of the car and keep costs low compared to other racing series in Europe. The transmission has already been used in the #25 Ford Mustang test car driven by NASCAR Euro Series veteran Frederic Gabillon during the 2024 EuroNASCAR Finals at Circuit Zolder. This car will be on display at the Professional MotorSport World Expo in Cologne, Germany on November 13-14. Motorsports professionals have a chance to get a sneak peek at the first stage of the GEN3 car at the Samsonas booth.
Samsonas has been a proven player in the motorsports business since the 1990s. The company offers top notch products for race cars. Thanks to the Lithuanian supplier’s experience, the NASCAR Euro Series cars will be lifted onto the next level with a performant and durable gearbox. Samsonas officially partners with EuroNASCAR from the 2025 season and the company’s brand will be featured on every car as a contingency partner.
