GRAMMY-Winning Icon Nelly to Perform Pre-Race Concert Ahead of NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race on Sunday, Nov. 10

Phoenix Raceway

Phoenix Raceway announced today that diamond selling, multi-platinum, and GRAMMY award-winning rapper Nelly will perform prior to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race on Sunday, Nov. 10, with a portion of the performance set to air live on NBC’s pre-race show.

“We’re ecstatic to have Nelly help us close out the 2024 NASCAR season in style,” said Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey. “His timeless, high-energy hits will surely set the stage for a thrilling finale and amp up our crowd at Phoenix Raceway.”

“Performing for NASCAR is always crazy,” said Nelly. “The energy level is high and the fans are incredible!”

The multi-faceted entertainer first burst onto the music scene in 2000 with his widely acclaimed debut album Country Grammar and has continued to produce hits for more than two decades approaching its 25th anniversary. His following 2002 release Nellyville produced number-one hits “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Rowland, along with the top five single “Air Force Ones”. With the same-day dual release of Sweat and Suit in 2004 and the compilation Sweatsuit in 2005, Nelly continued to generate chart-topping hits with “Grillz” and “Flap Your Wings”.

Nelly’s fifth studio album Brass Knuckles was released in 2008 producing singles “Party People” featuring Fergie, “Stepped on My J’z” featuring Jermaine Dupri and Ciara and “Body on Me” featuring Akon and Ashanti. In 2010, Nelly released the album 5.0 with lead single, “Just a Dream” becoming certified triple-platinum by the RIAA. His most recent music was released in 2021 with his country-inspired eighth studio album Heartland and is planning to debut Heartland2 in the first quarter of 2025.

The musician has also found success on the silver screen – starring in Adam Sandler and Chris Rock’s “The Longest Yard,” as well as a recurring role on “CSI: New York,” and a cameo on “90210”. He also dabbled in reality television by starring in two seasons of Nellyville, while also being featured in Real Husbands of Hollywood and The Platinum Life. The entrepreneur is preparing to launch a new television project in 2025 and roll out his highly successful, “refreshed” clothing brand Apple Bottoms later this year.

The pre-race concert on Nov. 10 is free to fans who hold tickets to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race. Grandstand seats are already sold out, but a select number of Hillside, Infield General Admission and Busch Light Lounge tickets remain available. Tickets are also running out quickly for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series West championship races scheduled for Nov. 8-9.
