For the 14th consecutive year, Chevrolet will continue its commitment to the fight against breast cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ initiative. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Chevrolet will bring back the specially-themed pink Chevrolet Camaro SS as the official pace car for the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series races at Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Again this year, the pink Chevrolet Camaro SS pace car will do more than just lead NASCAR’s premier series under caution. For every caution lap completed in each participating race, Chevrolet will donate $350 (up to $50,000) to the ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ initiative. Additionally, Chevrolet will give a group of breast cancer survivors and caregivers a once-in-a-lifetime experience at each race. In 2023, 115 total caution laps were completed among the participating races, raising a $40,250 donation for the American Cancer Society.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with the American Cancer Society and carry the ACS logo on the pace car during the month of October,” said Alyssa Haba, Motorsports Strategic Planning and Operations Manager for Chevrolet. “It is always an honor to be able to utilize our platform in motorsports to support the initiative and continue to play a role in the fight against breast cancer.”
The pink Chevrolet Camaro SS will make its first on-track appearance of the season this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, serving as the pace car for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race.
