No. 19 Operation 300 Toyota GR Supra News and Notes

  • GRAY AT ATLANTA: Taylor Gray started 19th and finished fourth in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this year. That race was his only experience at the 1.54-mile track so far.
  • GRAY XFINITY SEASON: Gray has claimed a pair of top-five finishes and three top-10s in nine NASCAR Xfinity Series starts this season. He made an incredible first impression with a third-place finish in his debut at Richmond Raceway in March. More recently, Gray posted top-five qualifying efforts in his last two starts at Pocono Raceway and Michigan International Speedway on the way to back-to-back top-10 finishes.
  • TRUCK SERIES PLAYOFFS: The New Mexico native is one of 10 drivers vying for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship. After two consecutive top-five finishes, including a fifth-place result in the playoff opener at the Milwaukee Mile, Gray is ranked fifth in the playoff standings. In 17 starts this year, Gray has earned six top-five finishes and 10 top-10s.
  • TYLER ALLEN: As Joe Gibbs Racing continues to evaluate its overall Xfinity Series program, Gray will work with crew chief Tyler Allen this weekend in Atlanta. Allen, who typically oversees the No. 20 team, has led his drivers to seven victories this season, including back-to-back wins with Ryan Truex at Daytona and Christopher Bell at Darlington. Gray and Allen also worked together at Pocono in July where they qualified fourth and finished fifth despite having to start from the rear of the field.
  • JGR AT ATLANTA: Joe Gibbs Racing owns six NASCAR Xfinity Series wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway, including John Hunter Nemechek’s victory at the track last July. In 73 combined starts, the organization has claimed 24 top-five finishes, 41 top-10s, five pole awards, and 982 laps led.
  • TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, at 3 p.m. ET on USA Network, PRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Taylor Gray, Driver of the No. 19 Operation 300 Toyota GR Supra

What do you expect this weekend in Atlanta?

“I think the restarts will be pretty crazy, but I feel like you’re going to have to pick your spots of when to be aggressive and when to ride. I’m excited about it. We had a good run at Michigan with this package and the JGR cars have been really strong, so that gives me a lot of confidence going into the weekend.”
