RCR NCS Race Recap: Indianapolis Motor Speedway

NKP #33: Ty Dillon, Richard Childress Racing, Titan Risk Solutions Chevrolet Camaro

Ty Dillon and the No. 33 Titan Risk Solutions Chevrolet Team Claim Top-20 Result at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

“First and foremost, I’m grateful for the opportunity to be back in a Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet in a Cup Series, especially at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Our Titan Risk Solutions Camaro fired off loose, especially in the rear of the car. I was using the right rear tire too much and needed the car to shift forward to not be so heavy on the rear. Keith Rodden and the guys worked on the balance during every pit stop and once we made a shock adjustment, it was much better. The first adjustment helped 70% and then the second adjustment put us even closer to having the feel that I was looking for. It was extremely hard to pass once the field got strung out. I didn’t want to ride in a line, so I tried to make a couple moves. Some worked, some didn’t. Overall, we hit our goals – made the car better throughout the race and finished inside the top-20. We all wanted more at the end, but I’m proud of the effort that everyone at RCR put forth this weekend.”

Kyle Busch and the No. 8 Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen Team Use Pit Strategy to Contend for Top-10 Finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

“Randall Burnett and everyone on the Cheddar’s team did a great job to put us in position to have a good finish today. After getting loose in our qualifying session, we worked the entire race to gain track position and in the closing laps, we had a shot to finish inside the top-10. We saved fuel throughout the race to help with our strategy which put us in position to capitalize when it mattered. The ending is just the way racing is today. Thanks to Cheddar’s for their support. We will spend the next couple of weeks with our families and bounce back at Richmond Raceway.”

Impressive Run Concludes with 13th-Place Finish for Austin Dillon and the No. 3 SENIX Tools Chevrolet Team at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

“We had a solid weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the No. 3 SENIX Tools Chevrolet. After our practice session and qualifying 11th, we knew we could have a good race. We were up and down on track position throughout the day, but Justin Alexander made a strategy call at the end to pit since a handful of the guys we were racing with were low on fuel. If the caution would have come out before the white flag, I think we could have jumped a couple more. Overall, our car was good and I’m happy for SENIX Tools to get a 13th-place finish. We will take these next two weeks off to keep building and getting better. Thanks to everyone at RCR, ECR, and Chevrolet.”
