Not Done Yet… Daniel Dye makes his way to Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) to try and extend his gap on the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) playoff cut line. The driver of the No. 43 Bettenhausen Automotive Chevrolet Silverado RST accumulated 36 points last Friday at Pocono Raceway which put Dye 10th in the NCTS point standings. Dye earned the sixth-most points of all drivers in the field last week, and has gained 38 points in the last two races on the cut line to enter the provisional playoff field. With two races remaining in the regular season, he looks to distance himself from the provisional cut line at IRP.

Short Tracking … Friday’s showdown at IRP marks the fourth short track event of the season. Dye has an average finish of 11.6 in the three previous short track races this year. He posted a ninth-place finish at North Wilkesboro Speedway in May for his best-career NCTS short track result. His results at Bristol Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway were also impactful, as he scored a pair of 13th-place results which were the Floridian’s track-best finishes at each venue.

Pull Away … Dye gained 38-points in the last two events to get himself above the cut line in 10th position in the NCTS standings. In his last two races, Dye has finished in the top-five in each stage to give himself 28-stage-points. At Nashville Superspeedway he scored his career- best second-place finish and earned 48-points, which cut a whopping 23 points off his deficit to the cut line. Even while finishing 16th at Pocono last weekend, he managed to score 36 points with help of two top-five stage finishes. Since Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, Dye has gained four positions in the point standings. He has totaled one top-five and five top-10 finishes through 14 races with an average finish of 14.6, over five positions better than his rookie campaign.

On heading to :

“I’m looking forward to getting back to IRP this weekend and having Bettenhausen Automotive on our No. 43 Silverado. IRP is a pretty unique racetrack but one that I’ve had fun racing at in the past and I think we should have good speed with our McAnally Hilgemann Racing Chevy.”
