Joe Graf Jr. Quoteboard:
On Watkins Glen International: “Watkins Glen is an important race for my RSS Racing team. With it being close to my hometown, we will have a lot of support throughout the weekend, so it’s essential to continue to showcase how I am working hard to improve my road racing craft.
“Last weekend was a total disappointment at Indianapolis. We had an extremely good pace in practice and never got ourselves dialed back in during qualifying and the race. Steve and the entire No. 38 G-Coin® Ford Mustang team worked their tails off to give me a better car for the race.
“We made steady gains but had a mechanical failure and did not get to finish the race. That’s put a fire underneath us to go to Watkins Glen for the penultimate road course of the season and have a good showing.
“Watkins Glen is a high-speed road course with many technical elements and some blinding corners. I plan to race the track and hopefully play our strategy game right and give us a positive finish that we can carry to Daytona next weekend.”
On The 2023 Season: “As we press on during the second half of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, it is essential for me to utilize what I have learned with the RSS Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing teams and apply that behind the wheel.
“August hasn’t necessarily been a good month for me in terms of results, but it has not come from the lack of effort from myself or my team. We will continue to fight hard and inch our way forward over the final 11 races.
“We started the year off strong but then fell a little bit. We’re slowly but steadily trying to put ourselves in a good position for the end of the summer and into the fall.
“I just need to stay focused, communicate with my team, and utilize the knowledge I’ve gained over the past three years to recover and have my best Xfinity Series season yet.”
