Trey Starks is bound for Oregon this weekend to tackle a two-day sprint car event at the Cottage Grove Speedway.
The Spring Fling runs Friday and Saturday at the dirt oval in Cottage Grove, where Starks has four career feature victories.
“It is one of my favorite places to go race,” he said. “We planned on getting there last year, but it didn’t work out with a couple of rainouts and some scheduling conflicts.”
The most recent time Starks visited the high-banked track was in August 2021 when he captured one of the oval’s marquee events.
“The last time we were there was the Marvin Smith Memorial in 2021, which we won,” he said. “Making it down there for a two-day show to kick off our season in the No. 55 should be exciting. Hopefully there will be a good field of cars. There looks to be some nice weather so I’m looking forward to getting down there.
“It’s a smaller track that usually produces good, wide racing. I have a decent amount of laps and I think that contributes to our success there. I’ve been racing there since 2010 so I have history at that place. It’s a fun track.”
