NASCAR presented Charlotte Motor Speedway with a pair of prestigious awards during the NASCAR Safety and Operations Summit presented by American Medical Response. The speedway and the Concord Police Department received the 2017 Security Award of Excellence, while the speedway also earned the 2017 Teamwork Award for its efforts in medical services.
The annual summit – held in Concord, North Carolina – included presentations and seminars that promoted the industry’s best practices in safety, track services and medical and security support.
“Charlotte Motor Speedway considers it an honor to receive NASCAR’s Medical Teamwork Award as well as the Security Award of Excellence,” said Greg Walter, Charlotte Motor Speedway’s executive vice president. “Police Chief Gary Gacek and the Concord Police Department take the lead among several local and national law enforcement agencies in providing our fans with the first-rate environment they expect and deserve. We’re privileged to work with them every year on our ever-evolving security and medical response plans.”
