Martinsville Speedway Looking to Ride Wave of Momentum into First Data 500

Just days after an event-record crowd turned out to Martinsville Speedway for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300, Speedway staff is taking that momentum right into next month’s First Data 500 on October 29.

From the introduction of FanFest on Saturday night to a more than likely chance the race will end under the new LED lights, Speedway President Clay Campbell is excited.

“There is a buzz in the air around here that has everyone pumped up,” Campbell said. “I’m really looking forward to what we have instore for our fans this October. I think they will be surprised at not only the excellent racing, but the whole atmosphere surrounding Martinsville Speedway.”

One thing fans can look forward to are ticket offers, highlighting Playoff race winners. As a result of Kyle Busch’s win on Sunday, Martinsville Speedway is offering $18 off a Family Four Pack of tickets in the First Turn Tower. The Family Four Pack includes two adult tickets and two youth tickets (ages 12-and-under) in the First Turn Tower, rows 6-12. Regularly $150, the tickets are available through Friday, Sept. 29 for $132.

In addition to the exciting Playoff racing action, fans will be able to enter the Speedway for Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying on Sunday at noon before enjoying the race at 3 p.m.

Regular tickets to the First Data 500 start at $46 and every ticket in the Bill France Tower cost $51.

The First Data 500 is the first race in the Round of 8 of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, and has been called the “most important Playoff race,” by Kurt Busch. The winning driver could be the first to lock a spot in the Championship Race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Last year, Jimmie Johnson won for the ninth time at Martinsville, en route to his record-tying seventh series championship.

Tickets to the First Data 500 are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or online at www.martinsvillespeedway.com.
