On this day in history, brothers Donnie and Bobby Allison raced their hearts out at Bristol Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series finishing 1-2, respectively. Interestingly, of Donnie’s 10 career NASCAR Cup Series wins, this being his third, in his first three wins (Rockingham, Charlotte and Bristol) his brother Bobby finished runner-up.
