Cole Whitt rolled off the grid 35th in the No. 72 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to start the Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway
Lap 15: Whitt, running 35th, relayed the No. 72 was loose in the center and tight late exit
Lap 27: As a series of green flag pit stops were underway, Whitt was scored as high as 21st on the leaderboard
Lap 30: Whitt came to pit under green flag for four tires, fuel and wedge adjustment. He returned to the field 35th, one lap down from the leader
Stage 1 Completion Caution: Whitt completed the stage 34th, two laps down. He radioed the No. 72 was edgy, lacking rear grip and inability to charge the corners. Having recently pitted, he stayed out to take the wave around for track position.
Stage 2
Whitt took the green flag restart 33rd, one lap down to start Stage 2. Upon taking the green flag, Whitt pitted next time by for four tires, fuel, wedge and air pressure adjustments placing him back on track 35th, two laps down
Continuing to run consistently in the 34th position, Whitt radioed concerns of brake issues
Stage 2 Completion Caution: Completing Stage 2, Whitt was posted 34th, two laps down. He pitted for service of four tires and fuel
Stage 3
Whitt started Stage 3 in the 34th position, two laps down. He continued to express concerns about brake issues
Caution Lap 126 (spin): Running 31st, Crew Chief Frank Kerr made the call to keep Whitt out on track to take the wave around. Upon taking the wave, Whitt pitted for four tires fuel and wedge adjustment
Caution Lap140 (debris): Whitt stated he lacked grip. He came in for four ties fuel and wedge adjustment; placing him to rejoin the field 31st, two laps down
There were two additional cautions before the conclusion of the race. Whitt stayed out on track during both. He stayed consistent in his position and completed the Pocono 400 with a 30th place finish at Pocono Raceway.
