Racing legends will share their favorite stories at the MIS Charity Dinner presented by Consumers Energy on Saturday, June 9 at 6 p.m. NASCAR Hall of Famers Bill Elliott and Darrell Waltrip have been added to the Q&A session lineup.
They will be joined by three fellow NASCAR Hall of Famers in Dale Inman, Rusty Wallace and Leonard Wood. These five will tell their favorite Michigan International Speedway and racing stories during a special evening.
The inaugural Charity Dinner presented by Consumers Energy will start at 6 p.m. in the 50 Years of Racing Exhibit presented by Consumers Energy in the fan plaza. The event will feature a strolling dinner, dessert and drink stations, live and silent auctions, music, a photo booth and so much more. It will take place during the FireKeepers Casino 400 weekend allowing fans to watch nonstop racing on track with the LTi Printing 250 and a unique racing experience that evening.
“The Charity Dinner is a great event for our fans to hear stories from five racers who enjoyed so much success on the track,” track President Rick Brenner said. “We are excited to add Bill Elliott and Darrell Waltrip to the Q&A lineup on Saturday. These five NASCAR Hall of Famers will make this a must attend event and help us raise money for charity.”
Elliott dominated at Michigan International Speedway in the 1980s in the NASCAR Cup Series. He recorded seven wins on the two-mile oval from 1984 – 89. He produced those victories in 12 races, including four straight in 1985 – 86. Elliott also started on the pole six times in those same 12 races. The 2015 NASCAR Hall of Famer finished his racing career with 44 wins and 55 poles in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Waltrip made 48 starts at the high-speed two-mile track during his career. He posted two victories at Michigan International Speedway, recording wins in the 1984 Champion Spark Plug 400 and the 1977 Champion Spark Plug 400. The 2012 NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee finished his illustrious career with 84 wins and 59 poles. His 84 victories are tied for third in NASCAR history.
Fans can purchase tickets to the event starting at $90 or guests can make it a weekend experience starting at $179. The weekend experience includes a center grandstand ticket to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday, a ticket to the NASCAR XFINITY Series LTi Printing 250 on Saturday and the Charity Dinner presented by Consumers Energy. As part of the MIS Charity Dinner presented by Consumers Energy, fans will have the opportunity to stroll through the 50 Years of Racing Exhibit. It will include memorabilia and cars celebrating the rich history of Michigan International Speedway through the decades.

The MIS Charity Dinner will benefit both the Henry Ford Allegiance Health Foundation Patient Immediate Needs Fund and MIS Cares Fund.
The Patient Immediate Needs Fund helps remove financial barriers that can keep patients at Henry Ford Allegiance Health from accessing care. Donations will go towards gas cards, bus tokens, food cards, clothing, utility assistance, eyeglasses, dentures, home health safety items and other essential support for patients and caregivers.
As a donor advised fund of The NASCAR Foundation, MIS Cares’ mission is to assist and inspire youth within our community. MIS Cares supports youth in our community through grants and scholarship programs. Tickets start at $35 for the FireKeepers Casino 400 on June 10 and the Consumers Energy 400 on Aug. 12. Children 12 and under are free on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, children 12 and under tickets start at $15. Children 12 and under can attend three days of NASCAR action for just $15, ensuring families a weekend of fun at affordable prices.
Sunday ticket holders can stick around on Saturday after the NASCAR XFINITY Series LTi Printing 250 for a free post-race concert featuring the bands FireHouse and 38 Special located behind Turn 3. In August, fans with a Sunday admission can stay after the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Corrigan Oil 200 for the free concert featuring The Cadillac Three.
