Sometimes all it takes is a single spark to light a fire, and that is what happened during the winter of 2024/25: M Racing, the team founded and owned by touring car legend Yvan Muller, will make its NASCAR Euro Series debut in the 2025 season. The spark came from none other than EuroNASCAR driver Thomas Toffel, who planted the idea at M Racing to join Europe’s premier touring car series and continue the legacy Muller built during his active racing career. With one of France’s most popular drivers of all time joining the NASCAR Euro Series as a team principal, NASCAR in Europe is sure to get another strong boost.

“M Racing’s commitment to the NASCAR Euro Series embodies our passion for competition, our determination and our willingness to embrace a new experience. Each new championship is an opportunity to showcase our expertise,” said team boss Muller, who made his series debut at Tours Speedway in 2012 where he finished third in the second race. “NASCAR is very different from what we normally do, especially in terms of racing style and strategy. However, we plan to use our competitive experience and racing expertise to approach this new championship with the same determination and adaptability that has allowed us to succeed in other disciplines. This emphasizes the differences, but also the confidence in our experience and ability to meet new challenges.”

Muller has had a phenomenal racing career, particularly in touring cars. 48 race wins, 29 pole positions and four world championships in the WTCC highlight the Frenchman’s path to the top of the Touring Car Hall of Fame. In addition, Muller won a record-breaking ten Trophee Andros titles on ice. Now 55, Muller has raced touring cars in Europe, made steps in open-wheel racing, won a BTCC title, competed at Le Mans, rallied in the WRC, and even raced in Australian Supercars. While remaining active as a driver, he passed the torch to his 28-year-old nephew Yann Ehrlacher, who has followed in Muller’s footsteps by competing in touring cars and the now discontinued Trophee Andros.

The driver line-up and number of cars will be announced in due course, but M Racing’s arrival in the NASCAR Euro Series underlines the championship’s role as the premier touring car series on the Old Continent. Highly skilled touring car drivers are ready to take on the challenge of competing against the best European NASCAR drivers on the path to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina. M Racing is the next contender and another top team to make it to Europe’s closest, most competitive and most spectacular touring car grid. All qualifyings and races of M Racing’s NASCAR debut will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel and on television networks around the world.
