One of the NASCAR Euro Series stars will make an exciting trip to South America to compete in the NASCAR Brasil Series Finals on November 15-17 at the country’s only oval. Arianna Casoli will compete in the first Brazilian NASCAR oval race in history at Curvelo – Autodromo Circuito dos Cristais. Her start in Brazil marks another milestone in the legacy of the NASCAR Euro Series as the series offers its drivers special opportunities to explore the NASCAR galaxy on the other side of the Atlantic. The Speedhouse driver will drive the #14 Chevrolet, keeping the starting number she has built a big fan base around throughout her EuroNASCAR career.
Casoli will reach a milestone in Brazilian NASCAR racing as she becomes the first woman to compete in the championship. The first oval race of the NASCAR Brasil Series will consist of three sprint races on a 0.75 mile oval (1,250 meters) with a banking of up to 16 degrees. The special feature of the track is that two turns are banked with a wall close by, while the other two turns are flat with an asphalt and gravel run-off area. Casoli will make history and be part of a nail-biter event for the youngest international NASCAR championship.
“This is an honor for me,” said Casoli. “It’s a dream come true and still hard to believe. It’s a huge responsibility and even a little scary because I’m hoping to live up to the expectations. I feel a mixture of euphoria, disbelief, pride and gratitude. I’ll realize this over the weekend of the event. I hope to be a role model for women in the future of the NASCAR Brasil Series.”
Casoli ended her 2024 NASCAR Euro Series season by winning her record fifth Lady Trophy at the wheel of the #14 Speedhouse Ford Mustang. The Reggio Emilia native has been to Brazil before when her father was sporting director of the Alfa Romeo Formula One team in the 1980s, so the 50-year-old is happy to be back in South America. For Casoli, it’s another important step in her racing career.
“I have a degree in architecture and currently work mainly as a graphic designer,” she said. “Because of work and my family, I stopped racing for 14 years. Then I came back in 2015 and competed in four races in a Seat. After that, a series of coincidences led me to test a EuroNASCAR car, and the following year I found myself in Valencia for the first race of the 2016 championship. It was a great moment!”
The Italian has to adapt to a new car and a completely new environment, so she has realistic goals for her NASCAR debut in Brazil. “Progress and learn. Accepting that NASCAR is not an easy discipline was the hardest part. But the result so far has been incredibly positive, despite the need for physical, mental and organizational preparation because I am a mother. I want to be an example for the new generations, starting with the younger girls, but especially for women who often give up on their dreams after the age of 40. Always dream!”
The 2024 NASCAR Brasil Series season will conclude in Curvelo and all races will be broadcast live on the championship’s official YouTube channel. EuroNASCAR fans will be able to join the conversation and cheer on Casoli, one of the nicest and most inspiring personalities on the EuroNASCAR grid.
