Make a Mark … The penultimate round of the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) season offers Jack Wood an opportunity to make his mark on his first full-time season. The driver of the No. 16 BlueDEF, NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet SS qualified second at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on April 20th and had constructed a top-five run before a flat tire deflated the outing. Now returning to Bakersfield, Wood looks to finish the job and create a highlight reel moment in his first full-time campaign and score his first-career victory.
On a Roll … Wood enters the return to Kern County on the strength of four top-six finishes in the last five races. He most recently delivered a fifth-place effort at BMR’s home track at All-American Speedway on October 5th. Since his season high runner-up result at Irwindale Speedway on July 6th, Wood has been a model of consistency over the last five races and has pocketed three top-five results. He and the BlueDEF, NAPA Nightvision team hope to extend that streak on Saturday night in Bakersfield, Calif.
BMR History at Kern County … The high-banked half mile of Kern Raceway has been a point of strength for the BMR teams over the years. Since the venue hosted its first AMSW event in 2013, BMR has tallied six victories. All six victories came in succession from 2016-2019, split between current NASCAR Cup Series driver Todd Gilliland (two) and Derek Kraus (four). Wood and his BMR teammate Eric Johnson Jr. aim to claim the organization’s seventh victory in Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Parts 150.

Jack Wood Quote:
On making his second start at Roseville:
“We had a lot of speed at Kern earlier this spring, so we’re all looking forward to this weekend. Our NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet was really fast all day, and we battled a couple small issues, but then had that tire go down with a couple laps to go. We’re really motivated to make up for that result and get this NAPA No. 16 car back in victory lane. Hopefully we can put the full night together to get max points and finish the season on a really strong note.”
