- HAMLIN AT HOMESTEAD: Denny Hamlin leads all active drivers with three NASCAR Cup Series wins and three pole awards at Homestead-Miami Speedway. His most recent win at the track came in 2020 when he led 137 of 267 laps on the way to victory lane. Last year, Hamlin led 31 laps before a mechanical issue late in the race relegated him to a 30th-place finish.
- STARTING UP FRONT: Hamlin’s three pole awards at Homestead leads all active drivers. From 2015-2021, Hamlin started first in six out of seven races at the 1.5-mile oval – three by qualifying time, one due to a rainout (2019), once by random draw (2020), and another by the metric qualifying system (2021).
- LAS VEGAS RECAP: The No. 11 team finished eighth in last weekend’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. As a result, Hamlin is currently fifth in the playoff standings, 27 points below the cutline.
- PLAYOFF HISTORY: This season marks Hamlin’s 18th appearance in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs giving him the most appearances since the postseason format began in 2004. Over the course of his career, Hamlin has finished in the top five in points nine times, including the past five seasons working with crew chief Chris Gabehart.

In 79 combined starts at the 1.5-mile oval, the organization has tallied 21 top-five finishes, 43 top-10s, six pole awards, and 1,807 laps led. Kyle Busch, Bobby Labonte, and Tony Stewart join Bell and Hamlin on the list of drivers who have taken JGR to victory lane at the South Florida track.

How do you approach the next two races with your current points position?
“I feel like we’re going to have to go to both of these races and run top three all day to get points in the stages and good points in the race. That’s going to be a tall task, but Homestead is pretty straightforward from a strategy perspective. You’re going to take four tires anytime you pit, so that will allow guys that are up front to stay up front. We need to be in that group and hope for a little luck from someone having a bad day or whatnot to make up that gap. Then at Martinsville, who knows with the new tire? It has traditionally been a race with mixed strategies, but we just don’t know, so that one will be a bit of a wild card.”
