McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced today that Mongoose Bicycles and the USA BMX Foundation will rejoin the organization and adorn Jack Wood’s No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado RST in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) finale at Phoenix Raceway on Friday, November 8th. Wood’s No. 91 Mongoose / USA BMX Foundation Chevrolet will also feature Boys & Girls Club of the Valley in partnership with Swire Coca-Cola, the local bottler.
Prior to the final NCTS event of the season, Wood and Team USA Olympic BMX racers Cam Wood and Brooke Crain will visit local teens as part of Mongoose and USA BMX Foundation’s continued commitment to youth STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education. On Wednesday, November 6th, Jack Wood, Cam Wood, and Brooke Crain will visit Boys & Girls Club of the Valley’s Littleton Branch to discuss the healthy lifestyle habits, work ethic, and commitment that both BMX and motorsports disciplines require.
USA BMX Foundation will be donating a BMX STEM Program to Boys & Girls Club of the Valley, which includes five Mongoose bikes with helmets, bike computers, bike tools, and a six-module course to incorporate into the branch’s after-school youth programs. Students at the branch will use the donated STEM bikes and curriculum to perform various STEM experiments, all while learning the fundamentals of BMX cycling and racing.
During the visit, Swire Coca-Cola is partnering with Mongoose and the USA BMX Foundation to donate a bike, helmet, and custom race jersey to 25 teens from the Bob Bové and Littleton Branches in Avondale, Ariz. The teens will learn the tricks of the trade from both BMX Olympians and get an insight into the dedication that Jack Wood pours into his NASCAR career.
“Having the partnership with Mongoose and the USA BMX Foundation was really fun to be a part of in Bristol earlier this year, so to run it back and reach more youth in Phoenix is exciting to be a part of,” Jack Wood said. “It’s really fun to see the excitement of the youth we visit and be able to hopefully inspire them to pursue a competitive field like racing and BMX. Hopefully, we can end the season on a strong note at Phoenix and give them something to be excited about when the teens come out to the track with us.”
Jack Wood, Cam Wood, and Brooke Crain will be available to the media on Wednesday at the Littleton Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley at 1642 S 107th Ave Building A, Avondale, Ariz. 85323 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. local time. The NCTS season finale will be broadcast live from Phoenix Raceway on Friday, November 8th at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
