Making a Return … Ryan Reed returns to NASCAR competition for the first time in nearly a year on Friday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway. The Bakersfield, Calif. driver is making his first NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) start of the season driving MHR’s No. 91 Tandem Diabetes Care Chevrolet Silverado RST. Reed brings a history of superspeedway success with a pair of victories at Daytona International Speedway in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) on his resume. He will be paired with crew chief Darren Fraley at Talladega in hopes of replicating his past superspeedway accolades.

Reed Career Rewind … Reed’s most recent appearance in NASCAR competition came in October 2023 in the NXS event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He competed in five full-time NXS seasons and worked with MHR team manager Chad Norris during the 2015 campaign. Reed has five career NCTS starts under his belt, and most recently posted a 12th-place finish at Darlington Raceway in 2021.

No. 91 Season Rundown … The No. 91 team sits 15th in the NCTS owners’ point standings after 19 of 23 events. Reed is the sixth driver to pilot the entry and looks to post the team’s sixth top-10 finish this season. Jack Wood had the No. 91 Chevrolet up front in the season’s previous superspeedway event at Daytona International Speedway and was running third at the white flag. Reed looks to capitalize on the team’s superspeedway strength and notch his third NASCAR victory.

Tune In … FOX Sports 2 begins coverage from Talladega with pole qualifying at 1:00 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon. The green flag drops at 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday afternoon on FOX Sports 1. Ryan Reed Quote:

On returning to competition at Talladega Superspeedway:

“I couldn’t be more excited to get back in a truck at Talladega with MHR. It’s been great to prepare with the whole team and thanks to Tandem Diabetes Care for helping put this program together. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a car or truck, but I’m really looking forward to it on Friday. I think we’ll have a good chance to be in contention at the end of the day. Typical superspeedway racing, you just need to survive and get yourself in position for the last 15-20 laps to give yourself a chance. All four MHR teams have been fast this year, so I think we’ll have a great opportunity.”
