Moving On… Tyler Ankrum heads to Talladega Superspeedway to begin the second round of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) playoffs. The driver of the No. 18 LIUNA Chevrolet Silverado RST secured his spot in the round of eight after finishing in 14th-place at Kansas Speedway a week ago. Ankrum begins the round of eight at Talladega reseeded in sixth position in the NCTS playoff standings, 11 points below the cut line.
Second Rounder… Ankrum has advanced to the second round of the NCTS playoffs twice in his three playoff appearances. He previously reached the second round in his 2019 rookie season after scoring 97 points in the first three playoff races.. In the first round of this season’s playoffs, Ankrum recorded similar results by scoring 86 points and back-to-back top-10 results at The Milwaukee Mile and Bristol Motor Speedway. Ankrum’s best result at “Dega” came in his rookie season when he finished seventh. In five previous Talladega starts, Ankrum has recorded two top-10 finishes.
Season to Date… Ankrum has scored a career-high five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes this season, giving him an average finishing position of 13.1, eighth best among NCTS competitors. Ankrum has played a big role in MHR’s history by being part of two records for the organization. Earlier in the season at Bristol Motor Speedway, he was one of three drivers to finish inside the top-five, the first such occurrence for MHR. In the regular season finale at Richmond Raceway, all four MHR entries finished in the top-10, marking another first-time achievement for the organization.

Tyler Ankrum Quote:
On his outlook at Talladega:
“Talladega is definitely a wild card race. It is one of those tracks where you have to know that anything can happen and be ready for it. We ran well at Daytona earlier this year and had a super fast LIUNA Chevrolet. We didn’t get the outcome we wanted, but hopefully we can have the outright speed this weekend to get a win, or have a great points day. This is the time of the year to perform at our best, and I’m excited for the opportunity in the next three races.”
