The 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Playoffs started with the NASCAR GP Germany and an intense battle in the regularity based Club Challenge that Reza Sardeha won. The Team Bleekemolen driver came one step closer to locking the championship with a back-to-back win following his maiden visit to the top step of the podium at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. The Dutchman topped the second session and built a comfortable cushion of 18 points to nearest competitor Federico Monti ahead of the Finals in October at Circuit Zolder.

Dani Briz proved his consistency by winning the first timed session at the 3.668 kilometer Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and closing second overall. Federico Monti finished behind the Spaniard in the first session and scored enough points in the second session to complete the event’s podium. The Italian is still chasing his first overall Club Challenge victory not just for himself, but also for his team Academy / Alex Caffi Motorsport. Andreas Kuchelbacher and Kelvin Hassell rounded out the top-5 positions while Edouard Fatio and Gordon Barnes had gearbox problems that relegated them to sixth and seventh respectively.

Sardeha’s consecutive victories placed the Team Bleekemolen driver in prime position for the overall title, but there are still two more sessions with double points on the line at Circuit Zolder in Belgium that could change everything. Monti trails by 18 points and will be the Dutchman’s primary rival. Kuchelbacher is 30 points behind, while Barnes is 39 points down from the leader. Both champions are not out of the battle just yet. Fatio, Hassell, Briz, Bruno Costa, Yann Schar, Vanessa Neumann, Mario Buscemi and Franck Violas complete the standings.

EuroNASCAR PRO and EuroNASCAR 2 will take center stage in the NASCAR GP Germany with two Practice sessions to better familiarize with Oschersleben. With four double points races coming on Saturday and Sunday, it is important for the competitors to get their setups correct as mistakes must be avoided in the playoffs. All qualifying sessions and races from the event will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel and numerous TV channels around the world.
