No. 20 DEWALT Toyota Camry XSE News and Notes:

  • BELL AT BRISTOL: Christopher Bell’s best NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Bristol finish came in the night race last year where he qualified on the pole, led 187 laps and finished third. Overall, Bell has earned two top-five and four top-10 finishes at Bristol. The Oklahoma native also has four NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) starts at Bristol, including a win in April 2019 and a runner-up finish in August 2018. Additionally, Bell has three NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts at BMS highlighted by a pole and two top-10 finishes.
  • BRISTOL DIRT WINNER: Bell won the dirt race at Bristol in April 2023. After starting fourth, he led the final 100 laps to take home the win.
  • 2024 PLAYOFFS:  Bell opened the playoffs with a fourth-place finish at Atlanta and 14th last weekend at Watkins Glen. As a result, he is currently 46 points above the cutline heading into the final race of the Round of 16.
  • NEW LOOK: The No. 20 DEWALT Toyota Camry XSE will include a special dedication to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, co-branded with White Cap, this weekend at Bristol. The car features artwork from St. Jude patients Levi and Colton, and Bell’s helmet will feature artwork by patient Hadley. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and a time to raise awareness of the continued research needed to end pediatric cancer. DEWALT and White Cap will make a $175,000 donation to St. Jude on the pre-race stage Saturday night.
  • WATKINS GLEN RECAP: Bell rebounded from being spun twice to earn a 14th-place finish at Watkins Glen. After starting 17th, he was spun out in a multi-car accident on the opening lap, but luckily suffered no damage and was able to continue. The team optimized pit strategy in the first two stages by pitting prior to the stage breaks and had Bell just outside the top 10 in the final stage when he was spun while trying to make a green-flag pit stop. Bell recovered and survived overtime restarts to finish 14th.
  • JGR AT BRISTOL: Joe Gibbs Racing owns 15 wins on Bristol’s .533-mile concrete oval and two additional victories when the track was reconfigured to a dirt track. In 162 combined starts on the concrete oval, the organization has tallied 44 top-five finishes, 67 top-10s, 14 pole awards, and 7,251 laps led. Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth, and Tony Stewart have all won for JGR on Bristol’s concrete layout while Bell and Busch also claimed victories on the dirt track.
  • RACE INFO: The Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway begins Saturday, September 21, at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on USA Network, PRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Christopher Bell: “The cutoff race in Bristol is guaranteed to be crazy. We don’t know what we’re going to get as far as racing conditions. The spring Bristol threw us for a huge loop, and nobody knows what it’s going to be like this time.”
