Movin’ on Up!: In January, Young’s Motorsports announced it would graduate from the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series to the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2024 with rising star Leland Honeyman Jr. behind the wheel of the team’s No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro for the entire 33-race season continuing with Saturday afternoon’s Focused Health 250 at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway.
About Leland: The Phoenix, Ariz. native began honing his racing skills at the tender age of two racing Quads. By four years old, he moved into Trophy Karts and then collected three series championships in off-road racing Trophy Karts.
After an instrumental tenure in Go Karts, he moved into the Bandolero competition in 2015 and was crowned a Bandolero National Champion two years later. From there, he moved into Limited Late Models before graduating to the Carolina Pro Late Model Series division in 2021, where he earned championship-runner-up honors and picked up an astounding victory in the annual Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway Fall Brawl.
Honeyman, 19, returns to the Mooresville, N.C.-based organization, where he ran an impressive ARCA Menards Series East Series campaign, finishing third in the 2022 championship standings.
During the 2023 season, he made eight NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, highlighted by a 21st-place finish at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Road Course.
All-Aboard!: For the 24th of 33 NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season, Young’s Motorsports welcomes back Texas-based Young’s Building Systems and Randco will partner with the Mooresville, N.C.-based team as the primary partners on the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro for the 163-lap race on Saturday afternoon.

Leland Honeyman Jr. NASCAR Xfinity Series Atlanta Motor Speedway Stats: Saturday afternoon’s Focused Health 250 at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway will mark Honeyman’s second Xfinity Series start at the Hampton, Ga. nestled hybrid superspeedway race track.
Earlier this year, Honeyman made his Atlanta Motor Speedway debut, finishing 21st after starting 35th. At the time, the result was a season-high for Honeyman and a nice rebound after being wiped out in the season-opening race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway the weekend prior.
This weekend is part of a double-header with the NASCAR Cup Series, which is making its first fall trip to the ATL. It also kicks off the 10-race Cup Series Playoffs with Sunday’s Quaker State 400.
The Xfinity Series rookie driver will look to improve his overall speedway average Xfinity finish of 24.3.

NASCAR Xfinity Series races to his credit, earning a career-best fourth-place finish at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway after starting 33rd in the Ag-Pro 300 for Young’s Motorsports in April 2024.
Since 2023, he has carried an average finish of 23.0.
Darlington Raceway | Sport Clips VFW Help a Hero 200 Race Recap: In the 23rd race of the 2024 Xfinity Series season, Young’s Motorsports and Honeyman searched for another solid finish in the team’s inaugural Xfinity Series summer trip to famed Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
On an extraordinarily warm weekend at the “Lady in Black,” Honeyman qualified on speed in his No. 02 Chevrolet Camaro in the 33rd position and took advantage of a fast-paced race to patiently navigate his race car through the field.
During a long green flag run in Stage 3, Honeyman was able to maneuver his No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro into the top 25 and held steady through an array of late-race cautions to deliver a respectable 23rd place finish at the checkered flag.
Calling the Shots: Guiding Honeyman Jr. as crew chief of the No. 42 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro is longtime crew chief Andrew Abbott.
On Saturday, he will be crew chief in his 121st NASCAR Xfinity Series race. In his previous 120 races, he has four top-five and 13 top-10 finishes.
The season’s 24th race will be his fifth tango at Atlanta as crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR Xfinity Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway: This weekend will mark Young’s Motorsports’ second NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
In February, the team made its Xfinity Series debut at the 1.54-mile track by starting 35th. Throughout the race, the team made significant gains in their second-ever Xfinity race and finished a respectable 21st at the checkered flag.
Also, the Mooresville, N.C.-based team has 20 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN® Truck Series starts in the Peach State.
The organization posted a team-best 10th-place finish at the track on February 24, 2018, with Austin Dillon at the wheel in the 2018 Active Pest Control 200.
Since 2015, the Mooresville, N.C.-based Young’s Motorsports team has had an average starting position of 23.3 and an average finish of 21.6 in 20 Atlanta Motor Speedway Truck Series starts overall.
Young’s Motorsports’ NASCAR Xfinity Series History: Since entering the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024, the family-owned organization has logged 23 starts and maintains an average starting position of 26.5 and an average finish of 22.2.

The Focused Health 250 (163 laps | 251.02 miles) is the 24th of thirty-three (33) NASCAR Xfinity Series races on the 2024 schedule. Qualifying is set for Saturday, September 7, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The 38-car field will take the green flag later that afternoon, shortly after 3:00 p.m., with live coverage on the USA Network, the Performance Racing Network (PRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
