Down to This… Daniel Dye heads to Richmond Raceway this weekend in hopes to claim a spot for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) playoffs in the final race of the 2024 regular season. The driver of the No. 43 Champion Container Chevrolet Silverado RST is 11th position in the NCTS drivers’ standings, just five points below the cut line. Dye looks to join teammates Christian Eckes and Tyler Ankrum to become the third MHR driver to lock into the playoffs.

Points Hunter … Following a 36-point effort at Pocono Raceway, Dye briefly moved above the cut line into the 10th position. He was able to do so by earning 111-points during a three-race stretch in June and July. Dye has dramatically improved his consistency versus his rookie year by scoring 27 or more points in nine of the 15 races thus far. With his total of 377 points, he now only sits five points away from securing his first-career NCTS playoff berth.

Sophomore Season … Dye has added a few career bests to his resume in his sophomore NCTS campaign. In addition to his first career pole award at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Dye has finished in the top-10 five times, including a career-best second-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway. His average finish of 15.4 is nearly five positions better than 2023 and captured his first-career top-five result. Dye’s short track record this season shows he will be a capable contender on Saturday at Richmond, as he has scored three finishes of 13th or better in the four previous short track races this season.

Daniel Dye Quote:

On his outlook to make the playoff field at Richmond:

“Since Charlotte, I feel that this No. 43 Champion Container team has been dialed in. We’ve had a lot of speed over the summer and we’ve had some good runs at the short tracks earlier this year, also. Hopefully we can translate that to Saturday at Richmond and lock ourselves into the playoffs. We’ll need to have a smooth night and be up front throughout the race to bank as many points as possible.”
