Box Tops for Education in conjunction with the Kroger Racing team announced today a donation to two local schools near the site of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway. The two schools selected were Barack Obama Elementary and Overby-Sheppard Elementary, both located in Richmond and part of the Richmond City Public School system.
Each school will receive a 50,000 Bonus in Box Tops, the equivalent of $5,000, to use towards school supplies for the upcoming year along with 50 grandstand tickets to Sunday’s Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway where faculty and staff will have the chance to cheer on the No. 47 Kroger/Box Tops for Education Camaro driven by Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
“It means so much to see our partners use their platforms to get involved not only in such impactful national programs, but also at the local level in the race markets we visit,” said Stenhouse Jr. “I’m proud of what Box Tops for Education is doing in the Richmond community by helping two of the local elementary schools and I look forward to giving those students something to cheer about with a strong performance this weekend.”
The principal from each school will be attending Sunday’s race to represent their respective school and enjoy a VIP experience including Stenhouse Jr. prior to the race.
