No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Toyota GR Supra News and Notes:
- CREED AT INDY: Saturday’s Pennzoil 250 will mark Sheldon Creed’s first start at the oval configuration of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Despite the change in layout, Creed is no stranger to the Brickyard, as he has two starts on the Grand Prix Circuit configuration, where he scored finishes of 23rd and eighth, respectively. With his strong qualifying effort in Pocono last week, Creed will have the coveted first pit stall this weekend.
- POCONO RECAP: Creed put together a quality day at Pocono, which he kicked off by scoring his second-career pole. From there, Creed led the first seven laps before fading from the lead due to tight handling conditions. Creed managed to score stage points with a 10th place finish in stage one and a seventh-place finish in stage two. With continued adjustments and strong pit stops throughout the race, Creed managed to work himself into fourth place by the time the checkered flag waved.
- TOP-FIVE LEADER: With his fourth-place finish in Pocono, Creed is now tied with Austin Hill and Cole Custer for the most top-fives in the Xfinity Series. The three drivers have each scored eight top-five finishes on the season.
- STUCK ON SILVER: Creed’s second-place finish at New Hampshire marked his tenth career second-place finish in the Xfinity Series. Not only does that tie Creed with Daniel Hemric and Dale Jarrett for most second-place finishes without a win, but it also means that 52% (10/19) of his career top-fives have been second-place results.
- FRIENDS OF JACLYN FOUNDATION: Founded in 2005, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization with a mission to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers while raising awareness for said diseases. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for children and their families battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers by pairing them with local teams, clubs, and community groups. FOJ has currently made over 1000 adoptions and their mission is to continue to raise awareness through our Adopt-A-Child, Safe on the Sidelines, and Guardian Angel Programs.
- ON THE PITBOX: Crew chief Sam McAulay will lead the No. 18 Toyota GR Supra crew this season. Despite his rookie status, McAulay is an established mind at JGR as he joined the organization in 2007 and worked his way up the ranks from intern to lead race engineer for the No. 11 Cup Series entry of Denny Hamlin. Since the start of his tenure on the No. 11 in 2017, McAulay has contributed to 25 victories, including three Daytona 500 wins and a Coke 600 win as a crew chief when he filled-in for the suspended Chris Gabehart in 2022.
- JGR AT INDY: In 25 collective starts at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval, Joe Gibbs Racing has collected four wins, all earned by Kyle Busch. JGR has also scored nine top-fives, 15 top tens, four poles, and 348 laps led at the historic Brickyard.

“This is one of the rare tracks on the Xfinity Series schedule that you have not raced on. How will you prepare?”
“I’ve been trying my best to get the most out of my sim time. I feel like this track suits my oval driving style. I like lower banked tracks, but I also do well with high-speed corners and I think we can expect both of those qualities to come into play this weekend. I won’t truly know how I feel about the place until I’m in the car logging laps, but I feel pretty good about how we’ll stack up this weekend.”
