No. 20 Rheem Toyota Camry XSE News and Notes

  • BELL AT POCONO: Christopher Bell has posted a pair of top-five finishes and three top-10s in six career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Pocono Raceway. He has finished sixth or better in the past two races at the 2.5-mile tri-oval. Bell has also been solid on qualifying day at Pocono with four consecutive starts of 11th or better, including a fifth-place qualifying effort last July. In five combined starts at Pocono across the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Bell recorded one win, three top-five finishes, and four top-10s.
  • POCONO WIN: Bell started third and won the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Pocono during his championship season in 2017. In that race, he grabbed the lead with seven laps to go and never looked back to secure the victory.
  • CHICAGO RECAP: The No. 20 team finished 37th in last weekend’s race at the Chicago Street Course after an accident late in the race. Prior to the misfortune, Bell continued his recent streak of stellar performances. He found his way to the lead late in stage two before the team opted to pit for slick tires before the segment ended. In the final stage, Bell restarted 13th with less than 20 minutes remaining. On his way back to the front, he was involved in a multi-car accident that ultimately ended his race.
  • RHEEM GUESTS AT POCONO: Rheem is hosting over 100 guests this weekend in Pocono. Guests are on-site from Rheem New Zealand, Friedrich, the Air Conditioning Division (ACD) – United Supply, Meier, and the Water Heater Division (WHD) – Northeast Region, FW Webb, and Hajoca.
  • JGR AT POCONO: Joe Gibbs Racing owns 17 NASCAR Cup Series wins at Pocono Raceway, including Denny Hamlin’s victory last summer. In 162 combined starts at the 2.5-mile track, the organization has tallied 47 top-five finishes, 86 top-10s, 12 pole awards, and 1,948 laps led. Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Joey Logano, and Tony Stewart join Hamlin on the list of drivers who have taken JGR to victory lane at Pocono.
  • TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s race at Pocono Raceway begins Sunday, July 14, at 2:30 p.m. ET on USA Network, MRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Christopher Bell: “Pocono is a place that we have room to improve with the NextGen car. I have had great races there in the old car, so hopefully we are able to improve on our Pocono package and keep our momentum up.”
