ARCA Menards Series at Berlin Raceway: Berlin ARCA 200 Pre-race Notes

  • The Berlin ARCA 200 will be the ninth race of 20 for the ARCA Menards Series in 2024. It will be the 34th ARCA Menards Series race at Berlin Raceway and the 184th series race to be held in the state of Michigan.
  • Andres Perez (No. 2 Max Siegel Inc Chevrolet) leads the ARCA Menards Series championship standings by 37 points over Greg Van Alst (No. 35 CB Fabricating/Top Choice Fence Ford) headed into Berlin. Perez finished sixth last Friday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to Van Alst’s tenth-place finish, adding four points to his lead. Perez finished fourth at Berlin in 2023. Van Alst finished eighth at Berlin in his only previous start at Berlin in 2022.
  • Reigning ARCA Menards Series East champion and defending Berlin winner William Sawalich (No. 18 Starkey SoundGear Toyota) enters the Berlin ARCA 200 coming off his second win of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season last Friday at Mid-Ohio. In 17 career starts, Sawalich has six victories and 14 top-five finishes. He took the lead from eventual series champion Jesse Love with three laps remaining last year to score his first series victory. Sawalich’s three laps led are the fewest laps led by an ARCA Menards Series winner at Berlin in the modern era.
  • Reigning ARCA Menards Series West champion Sean Hingorani (No. 20 Fidelity Capital Toyota) will make his second ARCA Menards Series start of the season and his first for Venturini Motorsports. Hingorani finished third at Berlin in 2023, one of five third-place finishes he had in the ARCA Menards Series in 2023.
  • Highly-touted youngster Gavan Boschele (No. 55 JBL Toyota) will make his ARCA Menards Series debut in the Berlin ARCA 200. Boschele was guided early in his career by former ARCA Menards Series winner Kevin Swindell and has been a part of Keith Kunz’s powerhouse Midget team. He has also run select super late model races in 2024, including a fourth-place finish at Berlin in the UARA Money in the Bank 150 two weeks ago.

  • The 200-lap ARCA Menards Series race record at Berlin Raceway was set by Matt Merrell in 2011 at 85.272 miles per hour.
  • There will be two five-minute breaks for teams to perform service at or near laps 75 and 125. Teams can change tires and add fuel during the same stop, but not simultaneously. Teams can have a maximum of six tires in the pit stall.
  • Should the race need to be extended into overtime, there will be unlimited attempts at a two-lap “green-white-checkered” finish. If the caution is displayed after the white flag is displayed, there will be unlimited attempts at a one-lap “green and white together” finish.
