Matt Mills on Friday’s Race at Texas Motor Speedway: “This Niece Motorsports group has shown a lot of speed in it’s mile-and-a-half program this season, so I’m looking forward to getting on track in Texas in our J.F. Electric/Utilitra Chevrolet,” said Mills.
By The Numbers: Friday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway will mark Mills’ third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start at the 1.5-mile track. Mills also has eight NASCAR Xfinity Series starts under his belt at the Texas track.
On the Truck: Mills’ No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado will race with support from longtime partners J.F. Electric and Utilitra.
Recapping the Last Race: Matt Mills and the No. 42 team showed speed in practice, posting the seventh quickest lap. Qualifying left the team with a 25th-place starting spot for Friday night’s race at the track known as the ‘paper clip’. In his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start at the Virginia short track, Mills ran a solid race for much of the night. Unfortunately, Mills was collected in a late race accident that left the No. 42 J.F. Electric/Utilitra Chevrolet with excessive damage. Mills ended the day with a 29th-place finish.
