  • XFINITY SERIES DEBUT: Almirola made his Xfinity Series debut at Richmond Raceway in May 2006. That night, he drove the No. 19 entry for Joe Gibbs Racing. Almirola started 12th and finished 32nd in the first of nine starts that season.

What do you expect going to Richmond this weekend?

“I feel like Richmond is a place we can have success. The JGR cars have been really good there over the years, but especially the last few years when you look at Ty (Gibbs) winning and then John Hunter (Nemechek) has had some really strong runs. We just have to avoid mistakes and put ourselves in position, but I think this is a great opportunity for JGR across the board. It’s just up to us to execute.”
