No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Toyota GR Supra News and Notes:

  • CREED AT PHOENIX: Sheldon Creed and the No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Toyota GR Supra team head to Phoenix Raceway for the Call811.com Every Dig. Every Time. 200. Phoenix has been a special place for Creed over the years as he won the 2020 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship with his series finale race win at the unique one-mile racetrack. In 2023, Phoenix was one of Creed’s best tracks, as he finished third in the spring race, and tied his career-best Xfinity Series finish of second in the fall. In five Xfinity Series starts, Creed has earned two top-fives. Four top-10s, four laps led, and an average finish of 7.0. The 7.0 average finish marks his second-best average finish of all active Xfinity Series racetracks.
  • LAS VEGAS RECAP: Las Vegas proved to have its challenges for Creed and the No. 18 Toyota GR Supra team. After qualifying ninth, Creed ran consistently in the top-20 for most of the day but struggled to crack the top-10 for any significant stretch. After finishing the first two stages in 11th and 14th respectively, Creed fell victim to a loose wheel in the closing laps. With no time to make up the deficit, Creed was relegated to a 26th finishing position.
  • FOJ FRIEND OF THE WEEK: This weekend, nine-year-old Marissa Robidoux will join Sheldon Creed and the No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn team at Phoenix Raceway. Robidoux was born with a brain tumor and has battled through multiple surgeries and procedures in her fight for recovery. In the interest of honoring her bravery and strength, Joe Gibbs Racing and Sheldon Creed are making her an honorary crew member for the weekend and hope to give her the experience of a lifetime.
  • FRIENDS OF JACLYN FOUNDATION: Founded in 2005, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization with a mission to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers while raising awareness for said diseases. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for children and their families battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers by pairing them with local teams, clubs, and community groups. FOJ has currently made over 1000 adoptions and their mission is to continue to raise awareness through our Adopt-A-Child, Safe on the Sidelines, and Guardian Angel Programs.
  • ON THE PITBOX: Crew chief Sam McAulay will lead the No. 18 Toyota GR Supra crew this season. Despite his rookie status, McAulay is an established mind at JGR as he joined the organization in 2007 and worked his way up the ranks from intern to lead race engineer for the No. 11 Cup Series entry of Denny Hamlin. Since the start of his tenure on the No. 11 in 2017, McAulay has contributed to 25 victories, including three Daytona 500 wins and a Coke 600 win as a crew chief when he filled-in for the suspended Chris Gabehart in 2022.
  • JGR AT PHOENIX: Joe Gibbs Racing owns 16 Xfinity Series wins at Phoenix Raceway. In 116 combined starts at the track, the organization has racked up 50 top-five finishes, 81 top-10s, 21 pole awards, and 3,442 laps led. Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, Ty Gibbs, Daniel Hemric, Brandon Jones, Joey Logano, and Sammy Smith have all driven JGR entries to victory lane in Phoenix.

Sheldon Creed, Driver of the No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Toyota GR Supra:

“Phoenix has been a special place to you over the years. Is there anything about this place that suits your driving style?”

“Yeah, Phoenix has treated me well over the years. The Truck Series championship was a big moment for me and I’ll always be thankful of this place for it. I’ve just always been able to get around this place well and it’s a lot of fun to drive. I ran second here in the fall so I’m going into this weekend with the intentions of building on that and making this place even more special.”
